Thanks for the work that all of you have put into maintaining/tidying up the board.

(it's hard to click the tiny emoticons on an iPad, and I accidentally clicked :rage: and almost didn't notice. Would have sent a slightly different message ;) ).

I do the same as vison with ginger root. I didn't know that you could grate it with the peel, though, so I usually just scrape the sides off with a knife before grating it. I just used some yesterday to make "Indian" food (used quotes b/c it wouldn't ever pass as remotely authentic, but it...

That happened just a few minutes from where Holby and I live. He works with the boyfriend of the woman who drowned. News reports say there were 6 lifeguards there when she supposedly drowned, and that the little boy told two different lifeguards. One was "on break" and said she (I think it...

Agreed. The family I used to work for lived on the edge of Rockville near Potomac and I lived on the edge of Rockville by Bethesda. Most of the DC suburbs are either hoity toity or the other end of the spectrum and a bit scary.

That's where I lived before I moved up here to MA. Bethesda's where all the rich people that work in DC live. Very hoity toity town.

If you're not going to dilute them with coffee or milk, then it will definitely taste sickeningly sweet. I don't really like coffee and liquor together, though. Holby makes me a drink a lot that has a combination of Baileys, Frangelico, Kahlua, coconut rum, and milk. The rum isn't really needed, but...

The times I had to give the boy who I watched as a nanny a bath, I felt like he was old enough to deserve privacy as he was 5 years old, but there was no way I left the nearby vicinity of the room. He would be in the tub and I'd be tidying up the rest of the bathroom or sit right outside while using...

This amused me... http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljk228snqJ1qbd38ro1_500.jpg Cuban Tree Frog, Florida Photograph by James Snyder This is a Cuban tree frog on a tree in my backyard in southern Florida. How and why he ate this light is a mystery. It should be noted that at the time I was taking thi...

No no no. See, most of our plates are mismatched. So the thinner big plates are hard to see if they get put on top the thick big (slightly bigger) plates. And Holby, not me got all annoyed when he grabbed a thick one and a thin one fell out with it. So it's his fault that it's how we stack our plate...

It's required for professional or academic writing style. For example, all of my college papers have to be in APA format, and those are the rules for spaces and punctuation. So, while it may not make a bit of difference in the online world, you'll probably run into problems if you try to forgo it i...

I do think the two spaces at the end of a sentence makes sense. Visually, too, and I guess I never noticed that webpages automatically take them out. I tend to be a stickler for "teh rules" when writing (even if I mess them up sometimes, I don't often ignore them on purpose, except for tho...

According to that article, though, the "official" rules have changes (it mentioned MLA, not sure about APA's stance on it). I don't really care either way. :P I still put in two spaces, and I doubt I'll change it. But I have to correct kids' essays, so I found it interesting that I've been...
