**pokes head in, wondering if anyone will remember her...Sheesh, I forgot all about this place...**

So, new digs, eh? Nice.

Some smilies seem to be available, but not the full complement.

I find myself in a very curious situation. On the one hand, one of the reasons I don't visit B77 much is that I don't care to fill my head with instances of foul, profane or vulgar language, which pops up here so frequently. It's the same reason I avoid many R rated movies. If I read or hear this st...

(You're probably wondering why I'm so picky about these things. I wonder about that, too.) Jn Well, but the world needs picky people. Otherwise everything would be all hodge-podge, higgledy-piggledy because it would be run by people like me. While I'm nice enough as a general rule, if a person has ...

(sorry, I can't resist) It comes in pints? Sleepy place this...or is it me? I'm afraid I've missed quite a bit...what with kids moving out or off to Paris, foreign exchange student moving in, new puppy in the house, old friends stopping by, it's been a whirl I can tell you, but not so much that I ha...

Vincent :D IdylleSeethes, I understand there are bars in Florida now that require a person to have microchip inserted under their skin when they enter, that is linked to their credit card, so they don't have to worry about having their money or ID stolen, and it takes care of the tab as well. How co...

Frelga, how right you are. On second reading it does specify employees will be having their eyes scanned. When the opening line said 'people', I jumped right to the notion that that meant passengers too, but it doesn't say that at all.

Thanks

Funny this thread should pop up in my email again today, just below a message forwarded without comment from a very conservative friend. The content of the original was a news article out of Orlando, Florida: "Florida's busiest airport will begin using high-tech iris-scanning technology to filt...

Yes, yes, I vote yes. I am quite the go-alonger and have no interest in controversy. (I know the world needs people who argue and fight otherwise I'd be enslaved to my employer, stupidly doing what I'm told and grateful for minimum wage.) Fight on, fight on! Iron out all those details! I know there ...

I'm just looking forward to more sword fights. The more the merrier. :D I heard early on that they'd signed all the principles for 2 more movies, including the writers and director. I do hope the music is expanded. It's great stuff, though apparently not all Badelt's work, (I forget the name of the ...

Lidless, I've referred to that scene many times since Arnie first began his campaign to recall his predicessor. It wasl hilarious 12 years ago, I can tell you, especially from Stallone. I have no idea what their real-life relationship is like, but it still struck me as some sort of inside joke. And ...

Interesting how varied our responses. I've sometimes wondered if there mightn't be merit in raising the age limit for president. My logic is this: at the time the Constitution was written, the average age at death was, what, 55? And today it's 75? Or something like that? Insurance companies and the ...

That's you, this is me.

Would you also vote for a president under the age of 35?

I don't follow politics a lot because it's too confusing and I firmly believe we only ever see the tip of the iceberg on any given issue or person. I voted for Arnie for governor because I just really hated his predecessor who reminded me strongly of Eddie Haskell. The government of California is a ...

What Jn and Vision said. [Disclaimer: I'm sorry I can't be more warm and fuzzy about this.] Get the restraining order. I would say actors, or anyone in the public eye, should gaurd their comments to some extent. If an actor starts making public comments that make him look like a wacko, he'll start to be viewed less favourably by his potential audience. ...er...well, except for the old saw, 'no such thing as bad pub...

Greetings all! My you've put together quite a place here. I do have one question. There is a forum entitled, "Thinking of England--the place for adult discussion" I find it is not available to me. I'm wondering if I want access. Does "adult" here mean, 'Please, no children, we us...

So...this is what the inside of a real English pub looks like. Very cozy.

It's rather early in the day to partake of strong spirits. But...perhaps a little sherry to take the chill off?
