I'd forgotten that Rivers of London was renamed Midnight Riot in North America. Apparently the cover has a silhouette of a man with a gun which is hilarious considering the story is of a Brit junior cop. I'm not even certain if a gun appears in the novel.

Tosh, the old man repeated, as if recalling from old memory a long disused word. Yes,that was the name. I was Tosh.

You need to read them in order as there is a narrative sequence in many of them. The graphic novels are minor interludes that can be enjoyed in any order after the first couple of books are under your belt.

I went deep diving out of nostalgia and a bit of self indulgence and dug up the genesis of my TV series and how the ideas were chewed over and made concrete. There were 8 or 9 pages of discussion, often funny, before I got stuck into it. Though the final most complete version is on HoF, I wrote it h...

The first one is called The Rivers of London and that is used to group
the subsequent titles in the series. It has a big fan base now.

Who has discovered the excellent Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch? A junior police constable thinks he sees a ghost at night in Covent Garden and a suave observer introduces himself.

Hi Frelga. I've found my online life has been fractured but I still owe this messageboard my loyalty. I use Facebook but I do not admire it. But I'm fine and healthy and still leading an interesting life.

I've been in plenty of places I don't especially approve of that aren't doing actual harm. If this chain is fairly mainstream then perhaps its staff isn't treated too badly which is the only important thing. Were it me in the position you are in, I'd go and absolutely not leer. I've seen boobs befor...

My classmate has landed a job as computer games designer in residence at London's Victoria and Albert Art Museum. She started up a company to develop games that appeal to women. We sat round the same kitchen table labouring at learning Japanese.

Landing at Gib was a bit like having an Alton Tower roller coaster ride! The passengers applauded the pilot when they realised they'd survived. :D

I think it may have been The Well of the Unicorn but it was probably close to 50 years ago that I read it.

I just spent a week in southern Spain and as there was little Internet, no TV and almost constant heavy rain, I started and finished the first book, A Game of Thrones and have started the second. And also a Tom Sharpe and a Terry Pratchett and knitted two thirds of a long scarf!! I enjoyed it and th...
