Most vegetable and fruit plants have flowers. If I were her, I'd show them a picture of the tomato flowers and say, "Look how pretty they are! I had no idea they would bear edible fruit!!" :D

Would using Vanilla Vodka make a difference?
Seems like that would taint the flavor of the good vanilla beans...I'd expect most flavored vodkas to use very cheap ingredients.

Harold Camping, the 89-year-old who supposedly predicted this, is "missing". Surprise, surprise.

I get sleep paralysis sometimes, and didn't know what it was until I took a psychology class and discovered that it is a fairly common phenomenon. Scared the crap out of me! Part of it is a glitch where your conscious becomes aware before your acetylcholine receptors "wake up" and start tr...

I was glad that the US military decided to respectfully bury his body. And I myself did not celebrate, but I can understand why so many did and I am not terribly bothered by it. I think that most people were celebrating the US in general rather than his actual death.

The Crying of Lot 49 ? Seems a little out of place in that list. I suppose it is fantastical in the sense that it is not real, but I would call it postmodern and not fantasy. It was certainly an odd book! I can't decide whether or not I liked it. I'm with Jonny, I've read fewer than ten o...

Why would a bubble bath cause a UTI? I can see how some bubble bath products might cause irritation, but unless you're like pooping in the bathtub, there's only a tiny, tiny chance that any bacteria would survive and infect the urethra.

Well, I think everyone should switch to Google Chrome! It is hands down the best browser I've ever used. I even get annoyed when I have to use Firefox for something now. :P

Love it, Maria, I had no idea water was in the MSDS! :LMAO: It reminds me of the Penn & Teller sketch where they went up to a bunch of people at some big event and asked them to sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide. A lot of people took the bait!

I have to say I don't really care for the Baz version of Romeo and Juliet, but maybe I'm just a curmudgeon. :P I loved Moulin Rouge, though, absolutely loved it.

Maria's list got me to thinking about more movies! Any Paul Newman/Robert Redford film: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting are my family's favorites. Jane Austen movies are not really classics, but they are mostly wonderful. I would highly recommend the BBC miniseries Pride and Prejudi...

No worries, Alatar. You know, there are plenty of grammatical issues that bother me, but for some reason I never seem to notice that one...perhaps because I'm so used to it! It's when someone uses an apostrophe incorrectly that I start to get upset. :D (By the way, happy birthday! I just saw i...

That's beautiful! I love the symbolism of the scallop shell, and I hope you do get to walk the Camino someday. :) I have one tattoo already (a gecko on my right shoulder) and am planning to get a cherry blossom design on my outer thigh, just above the knee. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks!...
