OK, I hope this isn't too obscure, but I think you'll get it. It kept most of its significant bits, though it's mixed them rather badly.

Yep! Though it was "for eyes to see that can", which I presume means something like a faded Elf.

That's a great line. I love the way Gandalf speaks.

Then I'll call it her packed lunch. It makes as much sense as any other explanation I can think of. :)

I fail to see why the father should be such a news subject - his sons were obviously of age. Yes, it's a weird kind of attack, but I agree that it should be dealt with. I'm extremely hazy on law, but there's something about non-lethal assault, surely?

Alatar: it is indeed. I've been singing that today (to two tunes!)

Jude:  I guess you wouldn't have put the sig up to give it away. :) So what's the original cartoon say, before someone made it Melkor and Ungoliant? (And what's with the rabbit? Is it Ungoliant's packed lunch?)

With that information, I was sure it was "A feast would be no good, if we never got back alive from it," but I ran that through TP and it wasn't! Nor was it "No one is to stir from hiding till I say" (which admittedly was rather less likely). But I can't get any sense of even par...

Ohhh. And I was searching Thorin's letter to Bilbo, and Bilbo's bargaining before the Battle of the Five Armies.

But I still can't find it.

Jude, did you put your quote in your sig before or after it being answered? :blackeye: Alatar: Beren to Thingol. After which Beren named himself Camlost. But it was true that the Silmaril was in his hand, because when they caught Carcharoth, Beren's hand was still intact inside him until they remove...

Ohh. I've a vague idea about Scarborough Fair, but I don't know the tune because I've never heard anyone sing it. *Googles a midi*
