Humans Could Regenerate Tissue Like Newts By Switching Off a Single Gene Scientists have long been stymied by human regenerative healing -- that is, wholesale regrowth of, say, a severed limb -- an ability inherent in some species but lost on humans. But new research suggests the ability to regener...

FYI - not all righties are that 'out there', just like all lefties don't read Daily Kos for breakfast.

BTW, love that John Rogers quote.

I consider myself a pragmatist who wants reform but honestly does not understand the economics behind this plan. ‘Cutting waste’ or becoming ‘more efficient’ (to me) is code for ‘we’ll figure it out later’.

The leadership on this is doing a piss poor job of explaining how it works.

It’s a hard premise to accept: that those who currently pay for there own healthcare won’t have to pay MORE in order to cover those who don’t. or, if companies have to pay MORE for healthcare, how their employees won’t pay for it when they aren’t given a raise. or, when Medicare is cut, ho...

FYI - Direct TV, or Dish won't need a cable. For HD they are the best (cost is about the same as cable).

Most anyone who works can afford healthcare if they prioritize it as something they want. I think of it this way, why don’t we just make everyone buy his or her own healthcare, and then raise our taxes so the government gives everyone a free TV . Same thing. They choose the TV over healthcare. (It...

Wal-Mart provides health care (wife works there), so does Fantastic Sam’s. Most companies who do not provide health care are too small to afford it (but you can still get Kaiser for $300/month as an individual). My point of choice can be illustrated with this example: I have an employee who drives...

No one who is laid off goes without benefits (COBRA is a Federal Law). Yes, you may pay more, but you would be able to continue coverage. You can get Kaiser insurance for about $300/month (here in the very expensive state of California). One of my sons just got a new job, he is 31 and was out of wor...

-I am very sure the waste generated by the feds will cause a decline in EVERY aspect of, what I would characterize as efficiency per $$ spent. -People who have health care now, pay for it. Therefore all I have to look forward to is more out of pocket to pay for those who won’t pay for their own. -...
