I'm looking for patterns here, peeps!

Haven't been here for ages, but since you were nice enough to notify me of the new site, I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Especially since Jude evidently did the heavy lifting on getting the site moved, and Jude is teh awesome.

Congratulations on the new site! Isn't cem da bomb? She ran herd on getting TOB moved too. Never mind that she had little technical knowledge - she just went after it and rounded up people to help.

Do not stand between cem and a new hosting service!

Eruname seems to want confessions as well as information. Understandable. Well, I am willing to confess that this place got up my nose to an extreme degree, more than once, and I was anything but calm and understanding. I lost my temper here, publically and painfully, on several occasions. I behaved...

I left because several people who are particular friends of mine had terrible things written about them here - not once, but repeatedly. It was just too painful. There are a lot of nice people here that I would be happy to know better, and I'm trying not to have any hard feelings. But I don't think ...

Just a quick shout-out to you former Manwe-ites. Am having trouble keeping up with my various internet incarnations, but hope all is well with you.

I spent a Thanksgiving in Australia. My aunt prepared the whole traditional feast. Of couse it was hot as blazes. Late in the evening, one of my aunt's friends asked, "So... is this what Thanksgiving is? You eat until you feel ill?" We Americans looked at each other. "Yeah. Pretty muc...

We can't just make diamonds now, can we? DeBeers really doesn't want us to. :P Can y'all stand more H Pylori stuff? I just think it's such a cool story. The scientists in question are Barry Marshall and Robin Warren. Warren was the pathologist who first noticed the bacterium - where conventional wi...

Well, the discussion was viruses, but... I for one was very pleased about the two Australians getting the Nobel Prize for sussing out that ulcers were caused by the bacterium H Pylorus.

Bland diet? Won't help. Need antibiotics. Absolutely revolutionized a little corner of medicine.

I tried to read some of it last night and found it... incoherent. I don't think the book was the source of Hitler's appeal. In the (excellent) BBC documentary The World at War, there are interviews with several Germans who remember Hitler as a mesmerizing speaker - including several who disagreed co...

If you really want to read Mein Kampf, Silwen - and I have heard it is indeed dreadfully written as well as deeply offensive - it is avaiable online.

In English: http://www.hitler.org/writings/Mein_Kampf/

Or in German: http://www.adolfhitler.ws/lib/books/dkampf/dkampf.htm

Ethel, there are lots of threads in this place that you would "do okay" at. Just sayin'. Thanks, love. But having behaved like a crazed wolverine around here, I'm sufficiently scared of myself to strictly limit my participation! PS - I voted for the bath water cretin. Because it's ...

This board is a problematic place for me. But Jude thought I might do okay in this thread. What do you think? Can't really answer since I never really understood why b77 was so difficult for you. Totally understandable. But I don't want to go there again publically. If you really want to delve into...
