It's especially urgent to stop posting in August when people start talking about goose poop. :D MariaHobbit, I was very sad to hear you've only ever had CANNED salmon! Fresh, wild salmon is one of the tastiest things in the world. Canned salmon is . . . well . . . I'd almost rather just go with the ...

I've also been thinking of you, WampusCat, and your family! I hope Strider knows enough not to add to your troubles at this point ( don't be sick, kitty!). You're having to be -- ARE being -- strong for a lot of people; it's great to hear the smile in your voice. You do have friendly harbors ...

At this point in my life most of my rituals are subordinated to the needs of the numerous kiddies, but there are a couple of vestigial habits: tea (after they've gone to school and just before I start working): three tea-bags in one cup, mint, green tea, and decaf black! I like tea strong, but can n...

Have a wonderful, wonderful trip, Berhael! Sounds like you're about the best prepared tourist in the history of world travel! :) Enjoy! (I'm so sorry about your friend in Spain, and I hope your computer connection fixes itself while you're away -- maybe it's the computer telling you the friend needs...

I have only sorrows, not grievances, to air! :) I came to B77 because all the wonderful people vanished (or were erased) from TORC, and I found them again here, plus many new people whom I also liked. Then a large percentage of the people who made this place so great moved again, and I more or less ...

I just found this thread, but I've been thinking of you, Areanor, and of course of Fabian. What an incredibly beautiful little boy! I love the pictures you've shared. It must be a strange feeling, seeing those images in the new catalogue. My heart goes out to you.

There are certain words I first saw in print in British children's books and NEVER associated with the American (aural) version of the word. For instance, for me a "draft" is something entirely different from a "draught," which I pronounced to rhyme with "ought" and ass...

That's incredibly scary, Lurker, but it sounds like you really handled everything very well (we never know how we're going to react in a crisis). I'm thankful nothing worse happened, and I hope the memory of this fades fast (but perhaps not until you've identified the thief for the police). Take car...

Take care of yourself, laureanna! It's an odd feeling, being that sick as an adult. You just want to crawl under the covers and have Mama bring you something to drink -- whether or not there's a real "mama" around to do any such thing.

Hope you feel better soon!
