We're battening down the hatches here as Storm Eunice approaches with estimates of 80-100 mph winds tomorrow. Scotland and Northern England have already had several bad storms in the past three months. Luckily down here it's been a very mild winter so far.

We're forecast to have low 20's all week. It's an absolute dream.
Same for us...it's very pleasant here this week! :D

I think it is a Hawthorn species - Canadian Hawthorn, or even a Douglas Hawthorn, judging by the leaves? Totally different leaves to our English variety!

Poor little blackcurrant bush...I do hope your perseverance and positivity pays off and you have luck getting a decent crop at some point.

Oh gosh, it's dreadful...I know the region(s) quite well as I've vacationed in Valkenburg twice and visited the Ahr Valley and Eifel region over the years.

You're welcome to it! Last night and today we've had 50-60 mph winds as well...I've lost multiple stems/flower heads off of my Bearded Irises which I'm very upset about. (two or three were due to the cat as they are where he makes his ascent of the fence, but two more went today in the wind.) And on...

If only....it's been consistently in the low teens here, with intermittent showers most days. Compared last year's early warm Spring during the first Lockdown, I reckon the garden's nearly a month behind!

Here's an unusual one! Tater Cookies 1 pound butter 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 3 1/2 cups flour 2 cups crushed potato chips (about 5 ounces) 1/2 cup chopped pecans Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and stir in flour. Add potato chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. They do ...
