Thanks, Jude, I really enjoyed that! It seems it was a Channel 5 series originally. They do broadcast quite a lot of royal history programmes. It's been decades since I was last inside the castle. Lisa and I were reminiscing about school trips there in the 70s! Btw, the Philip Howard (son of 4th Duk...

Glad you can see the photos at last! Arundel is a wonderful place to visit, with its pictureque buildings and riverside as well as the castle, of course. You can see the gothic-style Roman Catholic cathedral in a couple of the pictures, as well as the town chirch of St Nicholas. All three buildings ...

Fingers crossed, Jude! I took Lisa to the tulip festival at Arundel Castle, which is around 7 miles from us, today. The festival officially opened from 6th April yet there were many bulbs still to flower. Another week and it should be even more fabulous if it warms up. Weather today started out sunn...

:Q Yikes!

I went to Board Preferences and you get the option to switch between ProSilver (what this new look is) and Allan Subsilver which I've changed back to, and it is a little more like our original look but still has the avatars on the right hand side.

Snow in April is not unheard of over here - last time I remember was 2009 but such a difference in just a week is pretty bizarre! however, it's why the weather is such a big talking point for us...where our island is situated means we're at the mercy of weather fronts that can knock away the warming...

I have cousins in the Bedford (Dallas-Forth Worth) area whom my mum is in touch with. I'll have to ask if she's heard from them. Finally heard back from cousins - seems they coped ok, only one of them had to move into a hotel for a couple of days. The cousin who wrote back was well prepared - they ...

All melted by yesteraday but it still snows on and off and it's only just above freezing. Am glad this is not som...

Thanks for your responses! Yes, I hadn't really go round to thinking of a title... I certainly agree the Ainulindalë would work best as a single act, stand-alone ballet. But my fledging idea was simply to try and see if the whole creation part of the Mythology could be included to make a multiple ac...

In the past, when considering a dramatization of the opening chapters of Tolkien’s “The Silmarillion” it’s become apparent that the Mythological Creation story is something that takes up too much exposition, or would probably best work in animated form, rather than live action drama. Particularly th...

Ooh Bunratty! I have such great memories of 2016. I particularly miss Lily-Mai's!

I've never done the Oxford M00t so would love to join in this time, especially if Jude & Lali are going to make it!
