Interesting. I have to say I'm not up on all the intricacies of U.S. politics. But it seems some states voted in some progressive ideas like legal weed and gay marriage.
There may be hope for this country yet as they watch how it plays out in the states.

Listening to one of my parent's favourite old songs, back as they say, when Rod Stewert rocked and Ron Wood wasn't a hired hand for the Rolling Stones.

If it's such a hassle, don't worry about it. It just seems there has been a lot of activity in there of late that I can't partake in. You guys know each other for a long time so having a private club is understandable. Just thought I would ask.

Hey Dwynn, you must have autumn coming up soon, right? Be sure to post some pictures in our Autumn Colours thread - I'd love to see what Autumn looks like in Australia. Sure, when it gets here. Still lots of summer to go... like 6 weeks or so. The seasonal change here isn't so colourful as the vivi...

...instead of spreading the batter flat on a hot pan, you pour a stream of it into a frying pan full of hot oil, tracing a spiral. After a few seconds, you flip it over. The result is slightly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside, and it's heavenly. It's called feixuelos, or frixuelos,...

A bit of an update as Obama is sworn in for a second term, handily re-elected in November. With an obstructionist do nothing congress to "work" with, it is doubtful much change will happen. Still, the war is winding down, which means it's winding down for we Australians too. And I understa...

We did cool down a few degrees but it got humid with the rain. And the heavy rains are starting u north. Maybe a bit of normal Queensland summer is finally here. This is good as it seems a familiar happening for me to get rained on half way through my morning run.

Started getting hot again here, reaching 35° early this afternoon. Hoping the predicted thunderstorms come through to cool things down and give everything a much needed drink. Two years ago it was flooding here. this year, nothing as far as rain.

That is cold! I have no idea how it is living in such cold climate. When you say 'heat pump', I believe it's the same as reverse cycle A/C. We use our A/C for heat some mornings in July when it's cold, meaning 5°C or thereabouts. I would think a wood-stove is a necessity in such cold climate. Stay w...

We don't usually tip here in Oz, but the tip jars have been appearing in some places. But it's considered an inside joke as its a "tourist trap" to get a few coins out of American visitors who are used to tipping for coffee, etc. Me, I don't tip unless the restaurant service was extremely ...

Since I'm not going to see it again (well, maybe someday if I catch it on free-to-air TV sometime while TV remote surfing), I've said all I had to say about it. Sorry.
