The only problem I see with that, is that anyone really itching to get a friend here could then just tell then to go and register to jump the queue. ;)

Are we going to re-start invites on April 1st? Or wait until the convention stuff? Have a peek at the debate in the 'shall we open' thread in the Business Forum.

Me again! I must stop thinking.

I want to propose that we have a cull of some of the deleted invite threads. It sprung to mind with the new admin poll going that we may end up with someone who's been voted in. ;)

Well, if we only accept the people who registered *before* today, then we don't have a problem with people jumping the queue ;)

Get back to you on the rest tomorrow :)

I'm going to do this. Just the ones for people who've been given access to the boards. Those folk who were turned down and may be up for invite again can stay in case a reference is needed.

This already happened, of course ... yours truely here was the first person voted in to become an Admin, and I did get to read my invite thread ;)

Guys, I've just had a PM from Elian. Apparently DoTheyGandalf can't log into the boards. This is the only site she has a problem with. It's not a board issue though, as someone else was able to log on on her behalf.

I recal other people having some problems when they first started - Lord M maybe? And I was wondering whether anyone could remember what was up and how it was resolved?

I can't remember ...

I'll YM DTG from home tonight and ask her to describe the symptoms in more detail- maybe I can help.

Was that you got it sorted then? :) gather she can post again, but just can't use PM or send emails via the board?

Somedays I wish I had a techy brain! :P

<looks around nervously>

Hi, all. . . .

Thanks for the welcome, Leoba!

I have poked around the experimental board a bit, but I'm sure I'm going to need nudging and advice. I'm glad you're all kind and patient people. . . . :Q

 and welcome, Prim!

I had a YM from DTG, she's still stuck with not being able to post. I bounced that on to the phpBB tech support guys, will keep running with it until it is solved or I'm de-adminned, it which case it becomes a Somebody Else's Problem :D

Welcome Prim, and sorry for my lateness in doing so!

That's OK, Ber. Things have been busy.

I just want to add that if anyone thinks I'm shirking something, or not handling something correctly, please speak up. I want to do my fair share, and do it right. :)

Just letting you guys know that I'm off the boards for the next three days. I have to go and be trained in communication skills apparently. ;)

I'm back on, so it evens out ;) Though, I'm off to do laundry and get some exercise done right now  stoopfid exercise ;)

I'll be starting up an "Administrator" ID later today, and putting the password and such in the Sensitive forum. I want to create groups, but we need a "group moderator" to do that. Thought it best that we had a general and permanent ID do use for that purpose.

Anyway, off for now - much to do preciousssss  ;)

Oh, regarding DTG - I've turned her ID off and back on again, reversed all her permissions and restarted them, given her admin status and taken it away, changed her board style (thought that might help for some reason), etc etc. Nothing.

I'm going to suggest she first clear all her cookies and internet files and then try to log on. If that doesn't work, I'll have her create another ID and try logging on with that. If she just can't log on at all, I don't know what to do anymore. We'll have to ask Squiddy or Jude or some other computer person I'm thinking - give them temporary admin status for a bit to help us figure it out.

I'm back. :D

Although there's some not so good news to go along with that. I have been offered a new job. In the interests of turning over a new leaf etc, I plan to resign from admin duty when I leave this current post. So that will be about 4 or 5 weeks hence.

Estel - has DTG tried logging on from a computer other than her own? I recall her saying that someone else was able to log on as her, which makes it sound as though the problem is with her computer, rather than with the MB itself??? :scratch

Leoba, I'm sorry to hear you will be resigning early as admin!

But this makes me realize--we will thus be losing all the admins but me around the end of April.

Shouldn't we be starting a poll? A big one? We need three new admins, ready to begin work in three weeks! :Q

Yikes!
That's great news, Leoba (and I'm very glad for you personally! :D), but Prim is right... :help:
We ought to put up additional polls asap.

I'm sorry. I can carry on until the end of May if that's preferable, but I fear I won't be able to devote the time I ought to it. I have this hope that I can cut internet time down to half an hour at lunch you see. ;) If there's someone who can give it more time then I'd be happy to step aside.

BTW I have given Griff back her normal poster status.
