I have no opinion either way on this subject, so I did not vote. I am curious, however - apart from Games, ME forum, and Engines of War and Fried Pastries is there a pent-up demand for any other fora? If only these two, or a couple others at the most, are wanted, then it makes excellent sence to create them now, especially since the burden on the admins should be much lighter if groups are used to assign rights.

Frelga, these are the two that I have observed real interest in. The M-E forum is a very recent idea but was received with great enthusiasm; the games/hobbies forum has been requested several times by several different people over the months I've been here.

This isn't the signal to open new subforums for every subinterest. But there are a lot of threads that fit nicely into these two.

However, Engines of War and Fried Pastries may have to wait. ;)

I don't feel the discussion is over; I think there needs to be consensus among the admins, and Berhael and apparently Estel are not here at the moment.

I see that my wishes for this board are meeting with resistance boarding on thinly veiled hostility, however things may change once we begin to admit new members.

For future reference, does anyone know how to say “Engines of War and Fried Pastries” in Latin?

Well, tinwe, it had to start spurting out sooner or later, like hot lava.

No doubt you have drummed together your horde of toadies to overwhelm us all and drilled them without mercy to follow your orders. Even if some of them doubtless did once prefer the ballista and maple bars, you have crushed their wills and they are capable now only of robotic obedience.

I feel like that guy in "Invasion of Body Snatchers" running around trying to warn everybody, but I expect I'll be about as effective when it comes down to it. :x

If I remember correctly, Ber said she was back today. If Estel doesn't respond to your PM does that mean that we are hog-tied? That hardly seems fair or right to me.

What ever are you talking about?
Not sure. ;) It's quite possible I'm still drunk from last night, maybe.

I don't see why games and hobbies can't be in the same forum. What if I like to collect aliens so later I can shoot them? Where would I go?!?

<shelves plans for "Getting Drunk and Shooting Aliens" subforum>

Voronwe, I'll wait to hear what Ber says. At a certain point we'll have to decide that Estel has chosen not to respond.

I am in favor if there is a co-forum or sub-forum involving sports.

For now, I think this would be a good place for sports, too.

Although you're a Sox fan and the season is young--you might need to put it in England so you can fully express yourself. :Q

Well then let us call it the recreation forum or something along those lines.

And just what the hell do you mean by suggesting that conversation regarding the Boston Friggin Red Sox belongs in the England forum? Because they usually get f*****? :P

Let's just say it wasn't the farthest thing from my mind.

Although isn't it traditional for them to f*** themselves?

Well not last year anyway.
Hmmm wasn't it you Prim that had them counted out when they were down 3-0? But of course they prevailed as you know.
That is why they are YOUR 2004 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS !!!!

And Sass' too. =:)

I'll be tinwe's toadie since he said nice things about my harp playing. :D

I think instead of calling it the Recreation forum it ought to be the Diversions forum. Or perhaps the Diversions-Not-Directly-Connected-To-Thinking-Of-England forum.

I think we should have a forum dedicated entirely to sw00ning for rehabilitated Evil Geniusesâ„¢ who have seen the error of their ways and have now sworn to use their power only for good.

But I don't think I'll start a poll on that one just now.

Yeah, that never happens in this forum.

PS to Holby and Prim:
You are allowed to say "fuck" here, you know.
It's not like we all didn't know that's what you meant anyway.
I seriously doubt anyone read your posts and said to themselves,
" 'f***' ? :scratch I wonder what that could mean?? I sure hope it's nothing offensive or dirty! :( "

Just sayin' :D

Can I just swoon for your baby sig pic instead? It would be easier and I swear I have a big internal "Awwwwwww  " moment every time I see that pic.

Awwwwww.

I know we are, Ang, and I'm fine with anyone else saying it.

It's just not a word I speak except under extreme provocation :P , and I don't write it. It isn't my style.

However, writing "f***," here, has a certain ironic appeal that I enjoy.

Yeah, that'll work.

We can consider it swooning for a future rehabilitated Evil Geniusâ„¢.

Irony is good. I never looked at it that way, but I can see it.
It has just always annoyed me when newspapers or magazines print "f***", as if that was somehow less offensive. Pesonally, I find it insulting to my intelligence and therefore much more offensive.

But that's just me, I guess.

I voted yes, because I have no objection on principle. I don't think I'd personally find much to interest me in there (though one never knows :Q ) but that's beside the point.

If there are those who WOULD find it interesting, then let's go for it. :)

Good choice Ms. Kitty. Your allegiance shall not go unrewarded.

*adds another name to list. Checks list. One. Oh well, it’s a start.*

Prim,

You may mock me now, but once I have assembled my Legions of Toady Minions you will be singing a different tune.

Seriously though, I think the EOW&FP forum has great potential. Some possible topics of discussion:

What’s your favorite donut?

Trebuchets - Not just for hurling anymore

Grand Unification Theory: the scientific quest to join man’s two greatest achievements.

[ Poll ] Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts?

[ Poll ] Doughnut or Donut?

[ Poll ] Batter or dough?

Mmm...
a variation on Hmm...

That’s a CATAPULT dammit! Not a trebuchet! :x:

The Flirting Thread!! - You can’t go wrong with donuts.

The Flirting Thread!! #2 - Don’t try this with trebuchets.

Tim Horton’s Moral Universe

Is it really a donut if doesn’t have a hole?

The possibilities are endless.
