I'm wondering whether this should be kept in the forum management forum rather then the business room, since there are already so many stickies in the bizz room with the ratification votes and discussions.

This post can be deleted once we decide if the thread should be moved.

I was thinking this thread would also serve for members to post that they wanted to volunteer, much like the Admin Pool thread. I think we should make volunteering as easy as possible—not everyone will take a minute to figure out an admin's exact screen name and PM them.

I agree that there are too many stickies! This could be unstickied until the votes are over, I suppose—but then, we want as many current members as possible to get onto these lists before we open. . . .

That's a good idea that I hadn't thought of, Primmy.

Let's leave it here, and leave it stickied at least until someone complains. :)

Can I register here my interest in volunteering for mediator, please? :)

I'll volunteer for being a juror and possibly mediator. I'd have to see what other mediators do first before actually accepting that job.

Do we answer if the answer is no, or only if we want to volunteer?

Eru - they stand in the thread looking beautiful, and say, "Now, now, everyone - let's all take a deep breath and count to ten ..."

You can do that. :D

Can I ask a stupid question because I deleted my email from the admins... what is the loremaster again? I think I might have mixed up mediator and loremaster.

A loremaster is someone who needs to know the charter quite well, especially the procedures for any hearings. If the jury has a question about procedure they can ask for guidance from a loremaster.

I think I've gotten that right!

Oh. I got confused then. I wanted to volunteer for mediator, not loremaster.

When does a mediator come in and say calm down? I am fuzzy on a lot of the charter rules on who does what when.

Wilma, mediators only enter when the people in the thread ask for one. Mediators serve in the Bike Racks.

Loremasters only enter when the jury asks for one. Loremasters serve in the Jury Room during Hearings.

Jn

p.s. you would make a good mediator, Wilma.
