Mossy, I can get the last of the Charter Article up for discussion by Tuesday, July 19. That's means all will be ratified (or not) by July 30.

Voronwe has one possible vote pending, but I think if we decide to do that vote we can have a result by this coming Tuesday as well.

Does that help?

No it doesn't. :) It means that the vote will begin by July 29 and all will be ratified (or not) by August 8. :)

It does indeed, Jn. Thanks. :)

So let's say the Charter is completely done by around the 11th to allow for unforeseen occurences.

Voronwe, you said you wanted the Ultimate Best Scene in the Films to run for a month, so you'll be ready on the 14th? 15th?

Does that sound all right?

Or, being utterly selfish here, if you all wouldn't mind waiting a few days, perhaps the 18th?

That would be perfect for me. I have a trial that is scheduled to begin on August 8 and will likely last all that week, and maybe into the the early part of the next week. But I should be done by the 18th, almost for sure.

Plus I think Mossy should be able to be there. :)

Good! I'm glad that works out for you. :)

So, how does the 18th sound to everyone?

Sounds great!

Voronwe, 19 + 20 = 29 ... don't you know?

Discussion usually begins at 11:59 pm (GMT) so the 20th is the first day of discussion. It think that makes it Aug 9 that the vote will close. (I also did this without a calendar, so I'll look it up to be sure.)

Excellent. :D Title editted.

Unless there are any objections, let's call it the 18th. So. . . any objections?

Which leaves the question of what people's schedules are like that day, especially Alandriel, Jn, Voronwe, and Pips. Have to make sure you all are there to announceify and speechificate. ;) It's late and I've been listening to Wicked far too much. My apologies.

Once I hear from people, I'll post a potential schedule. :)

I wouldn't worry too much about my schedule. I certainly don't intend to speechificate, and teh only announcefying that I need to do is to announce the results of the best scene in the films poll. I just hope that enough people participate to make the results somewhat meaningful. I'd like to have at least 50 people participate, but I'm sure that is horribly optimistic. We'll see. :)

Wow...that's a long way away!

Well, I was going to try my hand at making a new banner (we really need one as that was made for a TORC moot shirt) and at least this will give me more time.

18th August? Frankly - I have no idea at this point and it just might be that I sneak out of the city for a week on the beach (wishful thinking) but sadly, I have no idea at this point in time and won't probably until the last minute.

However, don't worry about me - I'll forward my bit to Jny, just in case ;)

Well, the Oxford moot involves only two or three people on this board, I think, but there's a moot with 15 people at lidless's place beginning on the 19th, too, isn't there?
Though that might not interfere with the 18th itself.

Edit: on the other hand, I'd fully expect they'd all just gather round the PC and take turns posting at the moot then. :P ;)

Alandriel, that's fine. I do hope you'll be able to be here (though a weekend at the beach does sound lovely). :)

I know that's a really long way away. It was rather unrealistic to ask for conflicts, wasn't it? If the 18th is the FL moot and the Oxford moot. . . I do wish we could find a date when *everyone* could be here, but I suppose that's not going to happen . . .

I'll put a potential schedule up later, both here and in the first post.

Glad you'll be able to make it, Hue. :)

Here's the promised potential schedule, which I have also added into the first post.

20:30 GMT--Party Opens
21:00 GMT--Committe introduces Jn, as Temporary Mayor, who will introduce Alandriel
21:05 GMT--Alandriel will give a speech as founder of the board
22:00 GMT--Voronwe announces results of Ultimate Best Scene in the Films.

I have tried to space things out so that if people can be there for at least part, if not all of the planned events. Please post feedback here or PM me.

Oh ye of little faith. . . people will participate. I'll do a bit of advertising on LJ, if you're that worried about it. Bunch of TORCers over there. . . I've been trying to get them to join anyway!

Hi Prim! :D Welcome back.

How was Powells?

TWO grocery bags, partly because I scored almost all of the Horatio Hornblower books in gorgeous trade paperback, used, to replace my acid-eaten, flaking mass-market paperbacks dating back 30 years and more (which I and my kids have read to fragments).

One case of various and delicious wines.

A bag of various kitchen gadgets and glassware.

Many wonderful restaurant meals.

Hours on our hotel terrace overlooking downtown Portland, sipping champagne and reading "The Code of the Woosters."

A tour of an amazing Chinese garden built stone by stone, five years ago, on a former city parking lot. The lotuses were in full bloom.

Yeah, it was all pretty great. :D
