Better thread title suggestions are most appreciated!

Have you read something that a Ranger has posted that you'd like to reply to but couldn't because you aren't able to post in the Forum Management forum? This is the place to do it. I thought this would be helpful so when you have an issue, you don't have to PM all of the Rangers and everyone can be included in the conversation.

title edited by Ranger Jnyusa, 02 Dec. 05, to reflect the change in the direction of the thread without disturbing the discussion. Was formally the "Talk to a Ranger" thread.

Just a wee suggestion while I was 'cruising':
you have two 'LIST OF NEW REGISTRATIONS' threads; a new one and and 'old' one (labelled as such). Could you crossreference the 'old' one with the new one (by inserting a link) and saying this one is no longer active, lock it and let it float

:halo: even though I hardly get online these days I can't help it

;)

Thanks Alandriel.

That was the intention, but the other thread was left up to finish processing members who joined before the new age-verification process went into effect. There is still one registrant to be processed under the old system, but its been several weeks now and they have not responded, so I think it’s unlikely they will. When I have more time un-announce the old thread and add the link as you suggested.

I need three things from the Rangers :)

1. The number of active members over the past 60 days. (The number that the sort function is giving you is fine.)

2. A global email that the last four ratification votes are now open, and a reminder that there are seven ratification votes open now until August 8.

3. A global announcement ... is there one up already? If so, then correct it to seven votes instead of three.

Make sure that both email and global announcement direct members to the Business Room. Some might never come here and won't know where to go to vote.

Thank you!

Members active in the last 60 days: 228 (30 not active after May 22nd, the next active being June 3rd, and 258 members all in all - I didn't subtract any RP characters or so).

Thank you, Hobby.

I'll carry that number over to Michel Delving and leave a note for Eru where to insert it into the quorum thread.

You're welcome! :)
I'd love to do the global e-mail, as I've never done one of those, but I'm just soooo tired, I couldn't collect seven links into a mail right now - my eyes are drooping as it is - I've just seen two colleagues online, so they can do the rest. :)

Night, all! :)

Tinwe - I don't think we need seven links because all seven threads are stickied at the top of the Business Room.

Just provide a link to the Business Room

The recent fiddling with the emoticons has left orphans in various places.

:damnfunny

:scratch

now are little more than words.

Could we have the emoticons back?

Yes, Eru just pointed that out - I'm very sorry, I did that yesterday, I've always wanted to remove the inconsistency and didn't think what it would do to the old ones.

Could a Ranger please either just restore the inconsistency or - a little more trouble but it should work - add the same smiley again with the faulty code?

It's these smilies:   :damnfunny: and I think another one, but I don't rightly remember which.

Edit: restoring the inconsistency would of course make all the uses of this smiley in the last 12 hours show as code.

You meant well. :)

I think having both codes is probably the only way to ensure there are no little orphan codes.

Thanks, Imp! :)

It worked with mrgreen - you can have the same smiley twice with different code, it still shows only once in the smiley list, and the first code remains the standard one, while the old mrgreen-code ones also show as smileys.
So, now we just need a Ranger to come along.

I think the "wave" was the fourth one, btw - but I'm not sure.
