From Jude:

Subject: [Ticket ID: 452183] Access Issues
Date: Tue, 13 Jan 2009 16:34:54 +0000
From: "Mxhub.com Technical Support" <support@mxhub.com>

Mxhub.com
Hi Jude,

http://www.Mxhub.com" target="_blank is totally hosted on a different network.

Something wrong with their ISP's DNS server.

Even google can see our site:
http://translate.google.com/translate?p ... ry_state0=" target="_blank

Ask them to do two things :

1. start > run > key in "cmd" , open up command prompt

nslookup board77.org

Copy & paste the result.

2. Another command to run:
Tracert board77.org

Paste both results here.

I have done this, but I can't figure out how to copy and paste the results. ??? I tried a bunch of different ways. Anyone know? And who is supposed to do this? Those of us who can access b77 or those who can't?

You could always do screenshots. *shrugs*

I'm not real clear on what they mean either, Lali. Jude posted some more info about it on TOB when I couldn't access b77.

I sent them examples from people who were having issues and those who were not.
I am awaiting their reply.
Feel free to add your example here and if needed I can forward them.

I tried the screenshot thing, and it didn't work. ?? (Just Print Screen, right?)

I'm on my laptop; maybe this wouldn't be an issue on my desktop.

I just typed it manually. I didn't bother trying to screencap it.

And the form they have would require me to add an attachment instead of just pasting. Which means I would have to store the file somewhere yadda yadda yadda.

:)

Well they did respond again but I don't feel it was helpful. :(
I'll keep trying.

Hi Jude,

What if she do a "nslookup yahoo.com" ?

I suspect her ISP dns is not working.
Please have her/his check with this ISP.

I responded again and I am thinking it may be best if people contact their various providers to see if the issue is on that end.
I am at the end of my knowledge in this area which wasn't comprehensive to begin with.
Quote:
I'll have them check, but this issue has been happening for some months now with various people in various countries.
With one exception it has been intermittent and has only applied to our board. All other sites are accessible and even board77 is accessible if a proxy is used.
There is something blocking mxhub either locally or internally and it seems isp related as opposed to computer related.
I may have the various people start contacting their providers to see if this can be resolved in that manner.

Until then I will provide whatever info you may think will be of use.

Thanks.

Another response.

Please someone take over. I'm not getting through to them. I don't know what the issue is, but I doubt they are even close to addressing it.

Hi Jude,

This should have reported few months ago. Not until now.

What happen if they do "nslookup mxhub.com" in command prompt ?

It should yield a positive result, imo. Because mxhub.com is hosted on another network. If the user couldn't access mxhub.com as well, something is really wrong with their ISP's DNS service.

 (<--for them)

You're in contact with Jude, right?

I think we have a language barrier issue here, and I don't appreciate them getting snotty.

Well, whatever was at issue with my comp has been fixed... Steve didn't do anything, so it was either the support ticket that got sent in, or it resolved itself on it's own.

Funny thing is, Steve can't access the board from work :P

Interesting - I have access again.

But for how long remains to be seen... :suspicious:

When I get a chance, I'll show you screenshots of one of the ways I attempted to access the boards :LMAO:

Anyway - hi everybody!

I know we've been over this before, but I thought "viewing topics in..." meant the member wasn't actually reading the threads, just at the main page and "Reading topics in ..." meant they were actually in the thread, right?

I ask, because...
(just a second, Holby's going to post the picture for me since I can't crop it)

Hmm, I played around a bit and I think I got the bots out of ToE and the Member's Lounge. That doesn't mean they've been in there before.....

I found a lot of bots that are inactive - meaning, they are registered as bots but show up as never having visited - should / could we delete them?
