You click on the little file-looking thing on the right hand side of the post, it used to be on the left at .net. It is right before it says Posted: then the date and time.

Or click on a page and look at the last number. That number should signify the top post on the page you are on. Then just count down and adjust the number accordingly. Mmm yeah not so much. :)

Click the little icon thingy.

There is a new version of our software available for download. Currently we are using 3.02, but 3.04 is available. Don't know if we should update, and I am not entirely sure how.

And it appears there are some people that are having trouble accessing the baord again. This appears to be an ongoing issue with this board, HOF and TOB.
Are they inadverdantly blocking isp's again or is there some glitch that is esily fixed on their end?

Well, we could upgrade, but as I told you, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the access issues.

Here's a copy-and-paste of the fixes that come with the new upgrade:

Well I suppose it may be prudent to keep up with the updates even if they won't address particular issues.
I am sending in a support ticket to mxhub because I am pretty sure it is on their end anyway.
So whatever. Feel free to upgrade as I have no clue how to. :blackeye:

Quoted from my facebook page:
Quote:
It doesn't even exist for me - or Steve either, so it's not my computer. It's seriously freaking me out.

I need my online home :'(

Nothing there. I've deleted all my cookies and temporary internet files, restarted my computer and turned my internet connection off and on again - still nothing.

It's weird - I'm on the verge of tears because of this and Steve is all calm and collected and saying it'll be fine.

I did just do an update of stuff and that's when it stopped working, but I don't think updating my computer would affect Steve's computer in the same way.

I'd say it's a server problem, but since I don't have a clue when it comes to computers or internet, I don't actually know. All I know is that I am seriously freaking out.

What comes up when I try to connect is

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Most likely causes - You are not connected to the internet. The Website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address."

Then when I click on "Diagnose Connection Problems" it says:

Windows cannot find the host name using DNS. The Domains Server may be down.

Also, when I put the boards name into http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com" target="_blank
it says that the board doesn't even exist. I can't get on HoF either, but the website does say that it exists and it's just me that can't get on it. I can get on TOB, just not HoF or b77.
The current deal is that I'm signed on on Steve's computer and he downloaded anonymizer.com to his computer in order to get on the board. For some reason, my computer won't let me download the same - maybe because he has it on his comp?

Either way, it's a free 7 day trial with anonymizer, so unless this gets fixed within the next week, and unless the sign on problem resolves itself, both of us will be unable to access board77 at all unless we buy anonymizer.

Because we can get on with a different ip address provided by the website, then I'm assuming that the issue is with the ip and the server talking to each other. Since I know absolutely fuck all about computers though, I really am talking out of my ass.

Should I just wait until Steve's anonymizer has run out and if I still can't get on normally, just post on facebook and TOB and see if anyone can contact the host to get it fixed?

I'm very confused about how this all works. All I know is, this place is my home and I will seriously freak out if I can't come here every day.

We sent in a support ticket to mxhub addressing this.
This has been an issue with more than a few people over the course of some months.
IIRC Ber had this issue a long time ago and the ISP was essentially and inadverdantly blocking a whole range of ISP's.

I am not sure what you downloaded to your computer, but it is possible that your router and or modem was affected. Maybe there is some way to tweak one or both to see what happens.
Otherwise we will just have to wait until we hear back from Mxhub.

Sorry for this and we are trying our best to resolve this.

I'd download Hotspot Shield:

http://hotspotshield.com/" target="_blank

It should do the same thing anonymizer does but it's free. Best to see if it will work now.

Estel, we do still exist. Keep in touch with us through Facebook if you can't reach us any other way, and we will figure out what's going on.

Jude has had issues, too.

Well, I restarted the wireless thingy, and our internet is just broadband through the phoneline, so it's the only thing I could've turned on and off other than my computer (which I also did).

Now the problem is Steve can't get the anonymizer.com thing that he downloaded onto my computer, off it again.

Thanks for all the help and moral support though. I've never been unable to get onto the board for this length of time and I needed it

The ticket has been sent so we will see what happens.
Estel, can either you or Steve try to access the Mxhub website. It would be interesting to see if their whole server somehow blocks certain isp's.

Wild guess about access issues: some people's ISP's are communicating with a DNS that doesn't yet have the IP for MxHub. When you log in to anonymizer, the anonymizer server communicates with a different DNS that does have the correct information.

As I said, that's a wild guess; those who know more about networking are welcome to say that my theory makes no sense. :D

Regarding the upgrade: there is a slight risk with every upgrade that we break something that didn't need fixing in the first place, or that I do something wrong and make the board unavailable until I fix it. The risk is slight, but it's there.

Looking at the list of bug fixes - has anyone had issues with any of those things? I didn't see any compelling reason to upgrade, but I'll be happy to do so if that's the board consensus.

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET http://www.mxhub.com/" target="_blank.

Reason: DNS lookup failure for: http://www.mxhub.com" target="_blank

Still figuring out what to do about this and what exactly they mean, but here's the response to the support ticket that Holby submitted:

Mxhub.com

Hi Jude,

Mxhub.com is hosted on another network which is different from your site which is on.

First of all, let's get their IP address and see if they get block by the server.

I don't 100% know what they're talking about, but I just figured I'd post it for those of you that might know. :blackeye:

Jude still can't access it. :( (But I'm glad you can, Estel.)

Yeah, I'm not sure what they're talking about either. Do we need to give them the IP's that are having problems?

I sent a response back asking if that's what they meant. Hopefully they'll let us know soon. :)

Glad to hear it's working for you now Estel. :D

I've had problems getting on the board now.

Is there anyone in the US having this problem or is it just those of us outside the US?
