I love Bombadil! :) His nonsense lightens my load. He's very important; like a peep of sunshine when it's showering.

I'll have to motivate myself to come into the Hall; I don't dare stick my nose in these days in case I am tempted, because I don't have time to contribute and then I get gloomy and sulk.

But I promise I won't sing any ditties so Anth won't run away. ;)

Feel free to start the thread if you get to it before I do. Athrabeth indicated that she had some thoughts about Bombadil that she wanted to explore, and Din also commented about my side comment about Bombadil in teh Sil thread so I am hoping that he will add his unique and valuable perspective. We could have quite a discussion.

Particularly if we can get Impy to participate.

Time for me to hop along, my hearties.

:LMAO: Oh my..........now I certainly can relate to that!

But Imp, your amazing post in the Sil thread on the nature/symbolism of Light had such a powerful effect on me. It really helped clarify and organize a muddle of thoughts that had long swirled around in my brain. I'd love to hear more from you in that thread (and of course, in a Bombadil thread as well!).

Of course, Voronwe's pointed questions on the subject were a lot like a virtual kickstart to my musings too.

And I didn't say that because I hold him in such high regard. No way. :nono:

I really have no respect at all for the guy. Really.

It's just that I have a thang for drummers.

But where's the future in that, Ath? I mean, don't drummers as a rule tend to explode with a significantly greater frequency [1] than any other form of musician?

1. Vide This Is Spinal Tap, dir. Rob Reiner, perf. Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, et al., 1984, for a brief example.

Ah, but that's fiction, Prim. In real life, it is the keyboard player you have to look out for. Witness the history of the Grateful Dead: founding member, organ player and bluesman extraordinaire Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, dead of liver failure in 1973, longtime piano player Keith Godchaux, dead in a motorcycle accident in 1980, lontime keyboardist Brent Mydland, dead of drug overdose in 1990. :bawl:

I know its time to cut my hair and beard since I had a street person tell me today that I looked like Jerry Garcia.

:LMAO: :damnfunny:

It just tickles me that a lawyer-man can be mistaken for Jerry Garcia. You're my kind of lawyer-man, Vinnie.

Yes, I shall start the thread!

Right now.

Thank you, Voronwe.

Can't think of anything useful to say, in particular, but I shall do it.

My wife used to board with a doctor in SF who looked like Jerry Garcia. His name was Flash Gordon.

I am not making this up. :D
