Through which glitch in the Matrix were both Holby and Tinwe allowed access to things like this at the same time?

Hmmmmmm?

I think we need to amend the Charter...

So how does the calendar work?

Every day I click on says "No posts exist for this day", and I can't see how to add any items.

I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious...

Jude as it is set up right now, only Rangers, and maybe the Mayor can set up the dates.
I think it would be a good idea for the Mayor and anyone she designates, to be able to mark certain dates on the calendar, like 100 day dates, birthdays etc.
I guess this would be a good place to discuss the aspects of the calendar and the colored ranks thing.

***looking for input***

1. I pontificated earlier on the ranks thing. I still think it would be too chaotic if members had individual ranks and colors.

2. The calendar looks like a lot of fiddly work if we use it for 100-day dates for everyone, etc. Maybe just birthdays or other significant dates for those who ask for them to be posted? There'd be some work adding the birthdays at first, and then it could probably be handled by a Calendar thread set up like the Ranks thread, where people go in and say, "I graduate on the 10th—could that be added to the calendar?" Things people would like to brag about or talk about on the boards.

Could we also list upcoming m77ts? It might be a useful reference point.

Is the calendar visible to all? Right now some of the more sensitive stuff (like how old I am :D ) is in the members only section, and the moots are in a read-by-members only section.

Not that I really care, since no one ever celebrated my birthday, 100-day, or milestones [/eeyore];)

Good point about the Calendar being viewable to all - hadn't thought of that.

I just checked: I logged out, and tried to view the calendar, but it wouldn't let me.

Um - happy birthday!

:)

As to moots - dates and approximate locations (ie "California" rather than the actual address) could go in the calendar quite safely and just have a pointer to the specific moot thread for details.

Not that I care, as NO ONE ever moots in Oz [/borrows Eeyore]

<hugs Laure and Impy> Birthdays could also be put up without birth years.

I like that. :)

How about various deadlines for discussions and votes and such?

I also really like Prim's ideas for Calendar thread so people can announce to the world the birth of their baby and such.

ETA: Hey, I've got an idea for a custom rank color. How about one for RP alter-egos?

Holby, :salmon:

You're wearing out my trouting arm, buddy. :D

Imp, m77t dates and rough locations would be swell for those of us who, while not so remote as the Antipodes  , dwell where m77ts don't happen as a rule. It took the Dead to get Voronwë this far north, and that was loooooong ago. :D

Frelga, excellent idea. Discussion and vote deadlines, when there are any, should probably be on the calendar.

Seems so to me, too, though it amuses me to think you and I might have walked past each other at the Coburg Road Albertsons. I think I can guess what you looked like. :D I would've had a baby in a carrier wedged in the grocery cart and two little blond boys orbiting, and I might not have combed my hair that day, and I would have been leaning on the cart because it beats standing straight, and my eyes might not have been all the way open. Those were not easy years in some ways.

By the way, the manager of that stored looooved Deadheads. He said he wished they'd come to town more often. "Very nice people," he said.
