Hey! Did these errors of yours occur when you had the B77 training site open? Strange glitches happen when adminning both sites at the same time. Some people have reported having to dump cookies when going between sites.

I've got my b77 account set to log out whenever I close the window (for security reasons!) so maybe that's why I'm not having any issues?

The two sites don´t match well. I used to get no more topic reply notifications for b77 after having been on the training board.

It's possible that I had the training site open while trying to access the Hippo thread, at least a few times. And I'm pretty sure I had it open at some point in the morning, and I know I didn't dump my cookies or anything after that. (I did clear my browser cache and still had issues.)

Of course, it started to work fine right as soon as Jude asked me what the URL was for the error page.

Well, let's see how it goes today. I haven't been to the training site today.

<crosses fingers>

Thanks, guys!

Lali

Will a Ranger kindly go into the Charter Simplification Committee Discussion thread and move all those posts unrelated to the subject matter to a new thread so we don't have to slog through Holby and hal bitching at each other to try to find some user commetnts?

Thanks. :)

And actually, I'm not bitching at anyone, and we're discussing the charter and what needs to be done about it. Please do NOT split of the thread.

It might actually be useful for people to READ before assuming.

Fixer, I think this could be relevant stuff. People were (are?) discussing what the purpose of the revised charter will be, which will guide how it's rewritten.

As the only Ranger online, I'd rather wait to hear from a few others, as splitting is irreversible and this conversation isn't entirely off topic.

Fair enough. I just can't find any productive comments with all the accusations flying around in there.

There are a few flying accusations, but a good deal of the discussion is relevant to the committee's task. They seem to be getting back on topic.

I don't want anything else split ever again! I just want those who are zooming off topic to start a new thread, please. I don't have to read three pages about how TORC and b77 have the same problems, it isn't relevant to the committee.

Surely it is. We're discussing whether the commitee's purpose is of value or not, what it will/could accomplish, whether what it might accomplish is worth accomplishing, ect. Not off-topic in the slightest.

Why don't you just say "I don't think this committee has relevance"? There's no need to discuss the ins and outs of TORC vs b77 (which really doesn't have anything to do with our charter).

We have this facsination with making things more difficult than they have to be, just say what you mean cut out the filler.

I agree we got there in a bit of a roundabout way, but I think understanding why Holby (and probably others) think we're wasting our time is very important.

I think I argued the same exact thing when the bikeracks committee was working.

We can't maintain or rebuild B77 without fixing the problems that led us here. Any discussion of those problems IS relevant. However, there is value in keeping separate thoughts in separate threads, if people think about it ahead of time.

I am, however, opposed to all splitting... as it merely confuses the discussion, and sooner or later, you'll end up arguing the same thing in multiple places, which is something of a definition of chaos.

Holby, thanks.

Sure it does. The TORC way didn't work for a lot of people. Now some think that we're falling into that. It's compare and contrast to find something out. The Charter is the differences written down.

Maybe it's not that simple.

As for the committee thread, unless something happens to warrant it, I'm not going to split it.

I am afraid that we will get a never-ending discussion why and when threads are to be split up and also how many Rangers must agree to split up a post - and another comparison with TORC about the handling of OT posts. :help:

Mossy was the Ranger online when the request was made. She used her best judgment, and I'm supportive of that. It looks like a good compromise was made by TED and Mossy. Right? (Did he just start a new thread and have you sticky it? That's what I was thinking had happened.)

Mossy, thank you for your measured response. You handled that really well!

And... what Holby said.

Yeah and to reiterate what Anthy and I said,.
You guys are fine.
No worries as far as you are concerned.
Honestly I feel safe in your care. :)

You thought correctly. Thanks, Lali. :)

Anthy and Holby, thank you both! :D   I'm really glad to hear I'm doing this whole Rangering thing right. I had no idea at the time . . . :help: [/quote]

Mossy trust in yourself.
As corny as it sounds, think of Obi Wan telling Luke to trust in the force.
The force is strong with you. I can see it from here, and I know Anthy can as well.
Be yourself. Don't worry about any written words. Use your judgment.
That is your best asset.
Anthy and I are far from perfect, but we can recognize quality when we see it.
You got it. Use it. :)
