Houston, we have a problem.
I keyed in B77dotcom and it took me to a site that appeared to be a web directory of some sort with search categories, like travel and entertainment, lifestyle, etc.. It had the logo B77 and underneath, "We have what you need."
OK, I thought, someone else has bought the domain. Nothing strange about that.
Then I went to wikipedia to look up something unrelated, keyed in wikipedia dotcom, and it took me to the front page of the previous B77 dotcom but now all the categories had changed to sex categories. The navigation bar read wikipedia dotcom but the page was not wikipedia.
I backed up, rekeyed the navigation info, got the same thing. Closed the window tried again, got the same thing ... then suddenly it switched to wikipedia. The old page simply disappeared and the correct one showed up.
I headed back here to tell you all, and there were no problems navigating here.
Don't know what that was, but we might be experiencing some hijacking problems from the ad bots and porn bots that have been registering.
*E*, is that what you got when you keyed in B77 dotcom? A porn site?
Anyway, I'm cross-posting this on HoF and telling Ethel about it and checking out The Admin Zone to see if anyone else is having problems like this. Bot activity is up something like 200% in the past three months, according to the admins at other boards.
(I doubt it's a virus because I'm on a mac)
