It’s not working for me either. Neither is the test board that Alatar set up back in August.

I'm guessing that this is because no one has paid the host yet. Fixer paid for the URL, but if no one is hosting it . . .

You're right. Lidless said it was good until the 17th.

How very odd.

If you go to register.com and do a "whois" search of who the owner of the site is, it still lists Lidless' name, and still lists 8 Feb 06 as the expiration date. Hopefully that just means that Fixer's payment hasn't been recorded yet, though that seems strange.

The hosting service itself could just be down, as can happen frustratingly often.

edit, well the hosting service probably wouldn't be down for days at a time...

Sorry about the delay but I posted in the other thread. My credit card was also refused by the hostname provider. This is odd, because I had far more than enough cash on it, they must not like my bank or something. Right now the hostname is up for grabs.

Well, it was super-useful for those of us away from home who couldn't remember the phpbber addy.

I liked it when it was around.

Weird. I know that cem accidentally typed in the wrong address when we were first trying to purchase a domain and I'm pretty sure it was b77.net. Cem, what the hell??? :LMAO:

Houston, we have a problem.

I keyed in B77dotcom and it took me to a site that appeared to be a web directory of some sort with search categories, like travel and entertainment, lifestyle, etc.. It had the logo B77 and underneath, "We have what you need."

OK, I thought, someone else has bought the domain. Nothing strange about that.

Then I went to wikipedia to look up something unrelated, keyed in wikipedia dotcom, and it took me to the front page of the previous B77 dotcom but now all the categories had changed to sex categories. The navigation bar read wikipedia dotcom but the page was not wikipedia.

I backed up, rekeyed the navigation info, got the same thing. Closed the window tried again, got the same thing ... then suddenly it switched to wikipedia. The old page simply disappeared and the correct one showed up.

I headed back here to tell you all, and there were no problems navigating here.

Don't know what that was, but we might be experiencing some hijacking problems from the ad bots and porn bots that have been registering.

*E*, is that what you got when you keyed in B77 dotcom? A porn site?

Anyway, I'm cross-posting this on HoF and telling Ethel about it and checking out The Admin Zone to see if anyone else is having problems like this. Bot activity is up something like 200% in the past three months, according to the admins at other boards.

(I doubt it's a virus because I'm on a mac)

You know Jny when I went to board77 .com I saw a lingerie site and told a few people about it and they were like "Huh, how could that be? Steve owns board77 .com" I thought that since he didn't repurchase it that board77 .com was up for grabs again and then I had a chuckle that it had turned into a lingerie site.

But porn?!?!?! Egad! :Q
