I've just set up a new (freebie phpbber) forum for another interest of mine.

When you set people as moderators, it automatically shows who they are under each forum. Can anyone remind me how you turn this off?

Thanks! :)

I don’t know. I looked at the Admin panel here and at one of the phpBBer boards but I couldn’t find anything about displaying moderator names. Sorry, I’m not much help.

Maybe Alatar knows. Alatar knows, like, everything!

Alatar was the first person I thought of to be honest.

If it can't be done then it can't be done. There's only one mod anyway so it hardly matters.

I need to remind myself how to allocate user to groups as well. It's been too long since I adminned on B77.

I think that if you go to the permissions screen for the admins, you can deselect the option as to whether they are mods of a particular forum.

I think anyway. And make sure the group permissions are set the same way otherwise they will override the individual permissions.

Holby, I'd figured that bit out. But if you want to make some a board-wide Mod, don't you have to give them Mod powers in each forum. I think the only way out of it might just be to make the individual concerned an admin alongside me actually. One admin is a recipe for disaster!

I still can't work out how to add people to user groups. I've created the group and given it permissions but I can't see how to make people a part of it. What frustrates me is that I know I did this on B77 18 months back! Alatar - :help: :D

Following info applies to PHPBBer boards, not standard PHPBB, but yours is a PHPBBer board right?

Adding people to groups is easy. Go to the user list and select the users by ticking the checkbox beside their name. Then scroll to the bottom and hit the drop down list that says "Select One". You should see "Add to a Group" there.

On the other question, go into Permissions, and select the forum you want. set the display to Simple mode aned select Moderators[Hidden]. I think that should do it.

You're a total babe Alatar. Thank you. :D I will go and have a play in my lunchbreak.

And yes, you're right - this is a phpbber board - just like the earlier incarnation of B77.
