I love the one Ber and Eru made for Board 77, and I thought I would make some with the whole "The Last Homely Site" thing. I just made some up for fun - I know we can't actually use them without artist permission.

so, there's this one:

and this one:

and this one

These aren't meant to replace the one we have or anything - I love that one. Are we allowed to have more than one banner? Maybe if we have a front page or something?

Do we have a front page?

Who would we need authorization from to use those? Any from Ted Nasmith? I'm absolutely sure we could get him to let us use his stuff...

She decided to have a family portrait done. I was under the impression it was for private use only.

I like the last one (the family pic). With that we'll have to have a disclaimer, like, "Are you over 18? we'll have pics of non-clad women and bald snakes carefully lighted as our banners! But you won't get them if you're not 18 or older!"
"You're under 18? Sod off minor."

DTG - I can't find the artist at the moment  The minute I do, though, I'll let you know (and I'll put the credit in my sig as I'm supposed to :P )

Guru - The artist is Andy Simmons http://www.ans-graphics.com/ - I adore him.

Mummpizz - Hey, I finally get to have pics in my sig that I always thought were beautiful, but could never have on TORC cause they have nudity - I'm taking full advantage ;)

Estel, take your time :P I don't think I've told you though, but your avatar is really rather cute! I want my kids to have blue eyes like that (since there's no hope for me to have them :P) but the odds are against me I think...lol.

I just feel sooo old DoThey. And I have nothing against minors and rejoice in coming up with disclaimers I would like to read instead having them written by the legal department.

39. That is, I'm turning 39 in two weeks, but I feel as if I've always been 39, and as if I'll have to spend the next 39 years doing the "corrections" that dungbrained client just dictated ... corrections destroying a pretty, if not a beautiful idea, leaving rubble that looks like the California landslide turned advertising.

I wish I could just freeze my age where it is. The not looking forward to birthdays has already begun. Thank God I look young.

#1. The only reference I saw to it was that Ber had done it. There was no intention of ignoring or offending

[PeriodyThatTimeoftheMonthGrumpiness]

#2. As I said in the first post, I just did it for fun and thought I would share - it was never meant to be official. So sorry it's not the "right size" on first viewing, or in the right place.

 to Estel (a soothing cuppa tea ;) ) and another  for Eru.

We don't have to worry (yet :Q ) too much about conserving bandwidth ;) and we need all the creative input we can get. Thank you both for contributing in that sector

The more choices we have the more spoilt we get ;)

Speaking of being spoiled and wanting choices.....
Could one of the admins, install and make available some different styles?
It is pretty easy to do, and I have been messing around with the settings on the "Experiment" board. Squiddy has left detailed instructions how to do it on the experiment site, and I believe it will be the same here.

I wasn't thinking you meant for them to be "official" Estel. I was just letting you know about the size limits for when you were planning others out since it does have an impact on what images you use. I had a plan to put elvish script around the borders of the banner that is up there now, but once I saw how small the banner was going to be, I realized that it wasn't going to work. So I'm trying to save you some time and frustration...I wouldn't want you to go through all the trouble of making some great banner and seeing that it won't work in that small size.

I'll try to get around to adding some styles tomorrow Holby. Any particular ones you want?

Some of the ones installed on the experiment board would be fine. There is one there that has a wooden type of background.
Whatever you can do is much appreciated. :D

The first one looks a bit like Neuschwanstein to me.

I like the third one.

Wow, Andy Simmons rocks, Estel! Those are the kind of worlds that make me want to be in them so badly that I stay away from fantasy art. It all makes me long for places I can never be. :P But man do they look good.
