That's why I haven't added Farawen to *this* list but to the other (over at the Admin rotation thread ;)

Rodia sent you a yahoo IM ;)

Lidless: why ever not? :halo: How about volunteering for the next round. The way things are looking so far, you could take over from Estel ;) ... when the time comes round to that (or - of course - from anybody else)

I would trust truehobbit with my life! At least with my virtual life on b77.

I would volunteer for the admin elections if I were spending more time behind the computer, but I haven't much time lately.

OMG - Rodia! :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO:
But I'm pretty sure everybody feels that way - and that's why we have the practice-forum now - yikes, when I first peeked in there it was really scary - having all those buttons within your reach and knowing you'd better not press the wrong one! :Q
So - if you really, really, really don't want to, that's ok, but people are just pressing you a bit to volunteer because it's such a pity to see you underestimate yourself so much!

Wow, thanks Mummpizz!
(I'd use more words than smilies, knowing you aren't a fan of smilies, but I'm pretty speechless! :) )

Just trying to be respectful.
And that's really sweet and thoughtful of you, holby!
But going by a "first come, first served" principle I think would be as much as saying that getting a turn at admining was what we started the board for. Not sure how to explain it - it's just that I don't think it's people's goal to serve as admin when they participate here, so it's not a question of bypassing people that have been waiting.

Right, online times (approximately) in GMT, as Jny asked:
2pm - 7pm - about 50% chance I'd be at the PC
7pm - 1am - about 80% chance I'd be at the PC
1am - 3am - about 50% chance I'd be at the PC
Weekends the same as weekdays.

Hobby, the only thing that's being underestimated right now is my ability to screw things up!
No, seriously. I know that a lot of the time when people say 'I'm not good for this' they're looking for validation, encouragement, for others to say, aw, no dear, you'll do fine. But I honestly don't feel up to it, and I'm not trying to get you guys to coax me back. :P . I was interested in seeing how the board worked and what the styling options were- I'm still interested in that and want to learn how to make this place look original. But I don't need to be an admin to do that.

Trust me when I say I can't commit. I'm too lazy.

But you're all sweet for believing in me. :D

I nominate myself!

*Is deafened by the roar of "NO"'s*

Just kidding...I don't have a set schedule anyway.

I don't think anyone here will turn corrupt on us, so I don't have any downchecks for anyone. I also think whoever gets the job will grow into the job, so no complaints there either.

Can't wait to see who we sucker into the job this time

Ahem, Griff is an admin right now - and she's not a "firstborn"

And I don't think all of the original members will stand in line for getting nominated as admin.

At least I think all those who registered on the experimental board can be considered as volunteers..

Oh, and my online time... what time is now? deduct 4 hours and that might be it. I usually come online about midnight (my time, would be 11 pm GMT) - when my son has decided to get to sleep and I'm staying for about four or five hours.

In the mornings I am at work - no internet access - and in the afternoons I sometimes steal time to sneak online. But the best chance to get me online is during the night.

To some, being an admin is a privilege. To others, it's responsibility and something to be dreaded.

It's neither of those. :D It's just like being the bank at a board game; you control the physical levers and buttons to the place, and it's just for a few months. :)

Not all 'responsability' needs to be dreaded ;) Some people say I'm a 'responsability freak' :Q Taking responsability though can be wearysome (my English is crap today!!) . Thank Goodness we have a rotation system

oh yeah.. and some say I can't let go..... just like a Rottwhiler (never mind the spelling - told you, I'm useless today).. and they're probably right. You'll be all so glad you won't have to read my waffle posts next week

You won't be here next week? :bawl:
I suppose I'll manage somehow. :(

Anyway I think if the terms are short enough, it will be educational and interesting enough for the job not to be too much like a chore.
My English sux too.
More coffee needed.

Ahem, as Estel said in the other thread - shouldn't we get more admins?

So is this just for replacement of Gimli or couldn't we get just some more shoulders to lighten the load?

More shoulders would require a seperate vote ;)

Lets give it another week and see how things go with the admin we have and the status of the board. We might be ok with what we've got, we might not.

We might also need movers, if we're going to get the new board set up pretty soon, and maybe people who volunteer for admining would rather do that, or vice versa.

The big influx of new posters is pretty much over, and when the next influx comes up for approval, Steve will still be on his business trip in Europe, so I won't even have him to distract me from working on b77 :P

And why the HELL am i on that list, i never said i wanted to be an Admin!! Well, yea, i did, but it was a joke!! :rage: And nobody seems to GET IT either.....

And who was the poor, misguided soul that actually voted for me???? :rage:
