Okay, either I'm losing my mind (entirely possible), or the posting info is not working correctly all of the time. For example, from the Index, it will show, say, Jude, as the last poster in a particular forum, but when I go there it is not true. I'm not using the back button on my browser, so it should be giving me a refreshed view each time, right? I'm clicking on Index when I leave a forum.

And it's showing that there are new posts in a forum even after I've read them.

 Has anyone else noticed anything? Or is it just me? :scared:

ETA: For example, the prodigal son thread in the M77t and Geek forum is showing that there are 3 pages in the thread with Jude as the last poster. There are, in fact, 4 pages now and Tosh is the last poster.

It shows me that threads have new posts in them when I've just posted in them...

I've been noticing it on HoF, too, so I don't think it's just my imagination.

It's doing the same thing for me, too, Crucifer.

I haven't noticed it myself.

It might be just a time lag between how often the info gets updated. When you see posts after the "post info" list, are they very recent posts?

I'm not sure.

But, for example, I didn't see that there were any new posts at all in the Manwe Yak-Yak; I just decided to check for sure, and, lo and behold, there were about 5 posts. I posted something; however, it's still showing TheWatcher as the last poster, and the thread itself is still not showing any new posts. (And Beth was not the last poster either before I posted.)

ETA: I guess it's not a big deal, but the new post thing is how I navigate these places. I don't check a thread unless I can see there are new posts.

Is your browser caching a former version of the page? For example, if you open a different browser, is the post info the same?

Not surprisingly, all seems well in Firefox.

Why would it be doing it now if it's never done it before in IE?

Are you saying that Firefox has the up-to-date information and IE is showing the outdated information?

If I understand you correctly, it's definitely your IE that's caching old info.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.

What I'm not getting is why IE is doing that all of a sudden. It hasn't been doing that before today. ???

Most of the cool kids I know have trouble figured out how to turn on a computer, much less install Firefox and use it.

:damnfunny:

Yeah, it sounds exactly like your cache needs cleaned. You should be able to set the cache to clear itself after you close the browser........hmm...I can't remember how though.

If I can figure it out than anyone can.
IE can figure out a way to screw up anything, btw.

Yeah, I know that.

In fact, I used to have Firefox installed but then I reset my hard drive and I haven't gotten around to it yet.

But I doubt the 'cool' kids I went to high school with could figure it out.

I edited my last post after realizing that I had misread yours. I can be very blonde, sometimes.
