Hal wants his original thread locked. He plainly asked in his thread that if the gun debate was going to start that a new thread be started in the symp. But as always that could not happen. So I moved the thread to the bikerakes, as apparent was the wrong thing to do at the time.

Ara, Hal does not get to pick what happens to threads after they are started. Unless there is a personal attack the thread should not be moved. Please leave your personal opinions out of the decision.

If you want to "let loose" you can start on me. This is out of order.

If this shit flares up again I am going to let loose and no one is going to like what I have to say, because I am tired of the bullshit.

And IF Jewelsong's thread deterioates, it will be thrown in the bikeracks as well.

I am tired of the self righteous bullshit. I don't care what anyone thinks, its bullshit.
Ara-anna, I have to agree with Alatar here, you do not have the "authority" that is being claimed, and unless hal communicated to you directly and asked you to move the post, you did not state it in the rangers' thread where we should be able to see it. In any case, things cannot be moved to Bikeracks arbitrarily. Who are the wronged parties here? I need far more clarification. Further more, a follow up post should not be posted in "Sensitive Information." This is an open board, even if members cannot post, they should be able to view this all.

At this point I don’t really care where either thread goes.

You're out of order Ara. Read it again. There was no malice, no hassle.

And please get off your high horse.

I see where you're coming from Ara, and I agree with you to a certain extent, but we really don't have the authority to move something to the bikeracks.

Next time, maybe just lock the thread until there is a ranger who has time to discover more in depth what is going on?

And everyone - please calm down. Ara's upset and so she posted strongly. There's nothing about a high horse there - I would have posted in the same way, and probably have done so many times in the past.

High emotions don't have to have to do with high horses ;)

 We can deal with this way better than this guys

Edited to be more appropriate for public viewing ;)

I am completely neutral on this, I would avoid a thread talking about CH and the NRA like the plague in any case, but upon thinking about it overnight, I see no reasons why since hal started the thread, it could not be locked in the Turf as he requested and then split off into the Symp to discuss the whole gun control issues. Maybe that is what one of us should do? Or, since jewelsong already started a new thread, just move hal's back and lock it? (With a brief explanation why.)

I thin that moving the thread to the bike racks was a hasty and wrong decision. A thread can be lockep upon originator's request and that's enough. Bike racks are for threads about fights and conflicts not for threads which have not gone the way the originator wanted them.

Anyway, I don't care who flames who.

I would take the same option as The Watcher: take the thread back to TURF locked. It should IMHO not have beem taken to the BikeRacks - unless it was explicitely requested by members involved in an argument.

Fair point Estel.

I should also point out that "Sensitive info" was never intended to be used as a private forum for Ranger discussion. This discussion should be taking place in the Rangers thread.

Well, if we stay UP long enough, is it okay if I move hal's thread back and lock it in Turf, and then take this thread and move it over to the Rangers section?

Let me delete the PM first, as PMs should not be in public forum view ;)

Otherwise, yes - just lock the thread and move it back to Turf so long as that is ok with Hal, and move this thread to the public Rangers forum.
