Lali, I think I see why the new Ranger group doesn't have full permissions - under the group permissions section, they have "User Permissions" instead of "Admin Permissions". I didn't change it just in case you were in the middle of tweaking this.

In other news, I see that admins have the ability to change the author of a post after it's been made. :Q I would like to see this disabled - I honestly can't think of a single legitimate reason for doing this.

I'm very impressed with PHPBB3 so far.

Did you fix it yet, Jude? As you probably figured out, I was taken offline yesterday and have just now been able to get back on, so I did nothing rangerly after saying that I'd temporarily admin Watcher to see about the permissions. (I didn't even get to admin her.)

The internet is no match for an act of God! :Q

I haven't done anything, just in case you were in the middle of doing something else.

Nope. The last thing I got to do yesterday was change the registered user group's color to purple and make the group visible in the legend. (Hope you guys don't mind.)

If you want me to fix it, it won't be till later. I need to get offline now for a while.

eTech cyan looks good, and has fixed width for Avatars

prostain copper puts Avatars on the right and most people don't seem to like that!
Works for me - I really like the eTech cyan and would definitely use that. I only put the prosatin copper up cause it has the same sort of texture that Aeolus had.

Thanks Alatar :)

Now, I found some inconsistency in the opening of links.

The links in the quote from Estel's post in this post opened in a new tab, but the one in the quote from Eru's post in the post below it opened in the current tab.

Of the suggested themes, eTech Cyan would be OK, although personally, I prefer the basic version of eTech. A couple of others that I liked, if they would be OK otherwise:

3myl_sable (although this might come a bit too close to the HoF default)
Hestia Blue

But, whatever theme is OK, as long as it's easy on my aging eyes.

I've noticed that with some styles, if someone posts an image or url that causes the page to stretch, that the page gets stretched only for that post. With others, it stretches all the posts on the page.

That's another thing we should test for when we choose which style to go with.

Actually, one of the nice things is that long urls get shortened, like so:

http://www.cybergolf.com/golf_news/valh ... _the_world" target="_blank" target="_blank

Actually, in Board Config/Post Settings we can set Max Image Width and Height!

This is strange.

Both of those worked, but my post above tagged on a Target="_blank" which is part of the code used for external links.

In your first one, target="blank" is written twice. In the others, just once.

Did you actually type in the target="blank" went you posted?

Nope. Its part of the Mod for External links. I thoygh maybe it was a bug caused by using two mods, Quick reply and URL.

Just goes to show, hacking about in the code is not a good idea. we really should start deciding to just get used to the new board and features. Constant tweaking could end up causing more trouble than its worth.

Where's the button where you can link to an individual post?

Anyway, look at the ninth post on this page. In the link, target="blank" got added four times! I wonder why?

Dunno whats happening with that URL though. May be cached templates. I'll purge.

Is loading up new styles something that takes a lot of work? Just wondering if there was a reason we can't just, say, upload 20 random styles and let people choose. Is that something that would take too much time or effort or something? I haven't a clue so I thought I'd ask.
