I understand that whenever we install a mod, the template from every style would have to be edited by hand.

I'd say we could add 20 styles, but I can guarantee you Alatar won't help with making sure they all have quick reply, etc! :P :D Considering the number of active board members who understand the code in order to install the mods is a grand total of two, I can definitely see his point.

Lali, I think I see why the new Ranger group doesn't have full permissions - under the group permissions section, they have "User Permissions" instead of "Admin Permissions". I didn't change it just in case you were in the middle of tweaking this.

In other news, I see that admins have the ability to change the author of a post after it's been made. :Q I would like to see this disabled - I honestly can't think of a single legitimate reason for doing this.
I set the Ranger group's admin permissions to Full Admin. Do you think that's best? It said: Not Recommended!

I didn't see, off the bat, where I could disable the ability to change the author of a post, but I'll keep looking. I can't see any reason for that either.

I think I transferred all the Gallery files, but it's not showing. That was a mod, right?

Yeah, I imagine it would have to be completely reinstalled.

Would that mean all the files that people uploaded would not be linked to their gallery?

Anyone notice how some of the topics have a black dot, and others don't?

What does that mean?

I think it means you've made a post in that thread.

Images that were in the gallery and still have an active, visible URL, like so:

http://www.board77.net/albums/Alatar/aule_tns.jpg" target="_blank"

are viewable:

[ img ]

so, does changing .net to .org work?

albums/Alatar/aule_tns.jpg" target="_blank"

are viewable:

[ img ]

Nope. In other words, you need to make sure the /albums directory from .net is in the same relative path on .org for those images to still be visible.

Okay, I fixed that bit.

But can people upload new files and browse albums?

I very much doubt it. We'd have to find an updated Gallery module for PHPBB3, and since we're using an older version of Gallery, it seems unlikely. I'll have a quick look....

Nope, a quick google leads me to believe we'd have to first get Gallery 1 working standalone, then upgrade to Gallery 2, then embed in PHPBB3. Is it worth it when we have the Attachment feature?

I changed the logo, but it looks like shit. Can someone have a look at cleaning it up? Changing from jpg to gif forced it to use less colours so it looks a bit rubbish.
I changed it back to .jpg - I think it looks better.

Why was it changed to a gif in the first place?

Not sure - I think the generic site logo that comes with phpbb is a gif.

Rather that edit the HTML I edited the image to have the same name as the original image. Then I realised we don't have that Site Logo mod that puts it into every style. Bummer.

We have a lot of "stickies" in the Turf forum that are hardly ever used. So when you browse to the forum, you have to scroll down a bit before you can see the active posts.

Does "Posting Mode Index" have to be a sticky? For a thread that is so rarely used, it's taking up a lot of prime screen space. Ditto for "Board77 Headline News".

The "Concerning Avatars" global announcement was set as a 7-day announcement, so it should revert to a normal thread within a day or so.

Any objections to unstickying the two other threads I mentioned? If someone wants to post in them, they can always bump the thread, just like for other topics.

I think you could unsticky the posting mode thread, but you might leave the b77 headline news. ?? However, I really don't care either way.

I don't know, people rarely use either thread--but if anyone wants to keep them I don't really mind. :)

We're not talking about getting rid of them! :Q

They'll still be there for anyone who wants to post in them.
