I'm sorry, but if you look more closely at the emoticon, you'll see that I am, indeed, smiling.

As long as they know the username and password they can access the cPanel, and as long as they can access the cPanel, they can submit a support ticket under the domain name owner's name.

Where are they, by the way? Has anyone been in touch with them?

Yes, I PM'd Prim. She said they have a support ticket in, but they haven't heard anything back yet. She wanted me to let people know that they're trying to get it fixed, following up on the support ticket, and hoping it won't be too long. Like I thought, Voronwë is traveling, but Prim is in touch with him as much as she can be. If anyone needs to reach either of them, they can PM them through b77.

And I told her we all have our fingers crossed for them!

Just a heads-up - I think their time zone is is Australia or thereabouts, so you might not hear anything for a few hours yet.

I amended the title a bit. (Hope you don't mind, Tosh.) And I stickied this. We can unsticky it later, if people want.

The salmon was supposed to be sliced and placed on the bagel. Not whole and whapping my head. :roll:

And of course I blame Prim for this.

<waves>

<snags a truffle>

Thanks for setting up a refuge here, Tosh. I guess it's HoF's turn. I will try not to get the couch muddy, but it's awfully cold and rainy out there with no nice warm parlour to shelter in. <snif>

And, Jude, thanks for telling me our hosts are in Australia. I didn't know that, and I was getting quite worried after almost nine hours of no response.

I think Voronwë submitted the trouble ticket at 6 AM PST, so maybe they'd all gone home and we can hope for some prompt attention soon when their day resumes. Their service has been really quick in other problem situations.

V's traveling, but he's in touch, and I'm also following up with our hosts.

Here's hoping it's something they can whip together again soon. For those concerned, I'll post here as soon as I get any news.

Edit: Oh, geez. It never friggin' stops, does it, Holby? Bet you thought you were safe. :salmon:

Of course the new cat could have had something to do with it too.
Probably yakked up a hairball and short circuited something.

Thanks, Prim. I feel much better knowing someone's taking the proper steps.

It's felt weird being cut off.

I have curiosity eating at me! I have a PM waiting for me at HoF (and I rarely get PMs; I think I've had 4 altogether this year) and I can't get to it! If whoever sent it to me reads this, can you PM me here? Please? Pretty please? :pray:

Oh, let me clarify - I meant I think their time zone is the same one as Australia, based on when I got replies to the support tickets I sent. Not necessarily Australia itself.

And I wouldn't be surprised, now that it's 7:00pm here, that they've received it and are working on it. Do you have access to the cPanel to check if there's a reply?

If Voronwë hasn't shared cPanel access with at least one or two of you, I suggest you all throw a big surprise party for him when he get back - and make sure that you each have a very large salmon hid behind your back. :D

I do have access to the cPanel. <emits lightning bolts from finger tips> See?

However, there's still no update on the trouble ticket, and no change when I try to get onto HoF. Argh.

There is word from our host. They did a planned upgrade that did not go well and are working to restore the former settings. I presume this must be some kind of server upgrade, as we have not yet asked to upgrade our board software.

This came through within the past hour. They're promised more updates and I'll post them here as I get them.

Back to reliving yesterday on MSNBC. :love:

Gah, I should've checked here! I assumed it was my work computer acting up rather than a HoF deficiency, and was waiting to go home to check HoF. For my future reference, how would someone with cPanel access go about submitting a support ticket without access to the main site? (Just shows you, I've got a long way to go before becoming an adequate Shirriff.)

err, water the floorboards?

Offers lots of double deep chocolate brownies, some doughnuts, and some libations - hard cider anyone?

Sorry HOF is down, how odd that it affected them and not us? :scratch:

But, our parlor is not so comfy, but we do have lots of hand me down furniture and some comfy lap robes and blanket throws. And, we have plenty of firewood ready to throw onto the fire in the fireplace. Tea and coffee are offered as long as nobody gets way too specific. :D

Seriously, I hope HOF is up and running soon. :hug:

Hi folks. HoF is back up and running. This was terrible timing with me travelling, but I was able to submit a support ticket, and things should be okay now. Thanks for your concern.
