I have started a "Thinking of England" forum and have moved all threads directly relating to sex to that forum.

As it is a sensitive topic for some, I'm going to give some options on permissions.

B. I would like to be able to see the forum, but would *not* like to be able to post in it. (for my own protection, so I don't post something I think I shouldn't) ;)

C.. I would like to see and post in the forum.

True to form....I'm torn. :P :D

I don't have objection to adult material or discussions of a sexual nature (so you can overtly tick me for the C option) but do we have to call it the porn forum?

It makes me think of lonely guys in rubber coats, and lechery and gratuitous titillation...the kind of hard core stuff which I fervently hope won't appear here.

Can we think of something less...evocative of nasty stuff?

I think the idea is for it to be called Kama Sutra with the byline "The Art Of Sex", unless someone has a better idea?

Ummm, speaking as a Prim person, I like this a lot.

I have NO wish to censor anyone else here--God forbid!--but I'm glad to have it in one place where I can visit it or not as the mood strikes. Probably, honestly, mostly not. But I am truly happy that it's there for those who enjoy it.

(This is not a message of disapproval; it's a matter of personal preference, and mine is, I acknowledge, dated and weird. But, then, I'm really, really old, so it hardly matters. )

And I would keep option C for me.

You know that with this forum, we'll have to have an age restriction (or lawyers would eat us alive if this site comes ever near to something like an "open" status) ?

I'm all for it. Or we could create another forum "Anything but porn" and put the few threads that don't relate to sex, contain sexual explicit posts, innuendo etc (I hate that word "innuendo" as much as I hate "etc" ) there.

 <- platonic

Are there already people here who don't like the existing tone and want it moved out of sight then? :( :Q

And what do we do if an innocent thread (i.e. waxing.shaving) osgiliates into something a bit more innuendo laden?

If we do this then: C - of course.

Mummpy - I guess you're talking an age restriction of 16+ ? Which means that it doesn't restrict anyone who's here right now.

No, Leoba, I mean 18. It's not for me but for John Law who might be looking on our site - that would cause serious trouble (as soon as we open it to public).

Until then it is understood that we are all (hem, hem) responsible adults drinking, swearing and having intercourse responsibly.

Why 18, when the age of consent is 16? At least it is in the US & UK. I cannot see why a 17 year old has less of a right to discuss their sex life than a 19 year old.

We are already forbidden from discussing anything illegal (if I recall the statement correctly).

I did not make the laws, Leoba. Pornography has to be secluded from <18 yos.

And btw., we could also use a forum where we plot our next terrorist attacks and safe breaks ... :)

Well perhaps if we exercise a little common sense and don't discuss pornography? :) :suspicious:

Discussing pornography is fine. Exhibiting it or writing it is not.

As I saw it done on another forum, access to the Porn Forum was granted under the conditions that the poster had been present at the site for 3 months, and had a certain amount of posts to their name, and wrote to the admin asking for access.

While we're private, no need to apply something like this but it would be cool once we're open.

You could always have it so if you click on the link to the "Porn forum" or whatever it's gonna be called, it takes you to a page where you have to hit a button to consent that you are over a certain age before going to the actual forum. Yahoo groups have something like that if you try to get into groups which contain certain "adult" references. If you have a disclaimer and a button to consent, and someone lies about it - it's not your fault if they see any of it.

I think the button idea would be good if it can be implemented easily.

Leoba, speaking for myself, it doesn't make me uncomfortable. I can simply not open the thread if it's obvious what's inside or if I know it's Osgiliated into something I'm not interested in discussing. So the "porn forum" idea isn't necessary as far as I'm concerned. But I don't mind the idea, and it sounds as if it will be necessary when/if we open.

We may also have other members who are uncomfortable, now or in the future, and this would be a polite solution that allows free discussion to continue.
