Maria, the directories aren't configured yet, so try going to http://thehalloffire.net/ instead of http://thehalloffire.net/forum/.

This is cool. I'm so happy.

I'm also glad you grabbed that second complete backup when you did, Voronwë. We'll lose very little.

Once we're up and running, I'll start making weekly backups.

It ain't done yet. This is a little bit like a blind man playing horseshoes and hoping to get "close enough". But we'll see. I'm sure eventually it will work out.

The FTP transfer seems to have stopped and restarted while I was gone, so there is still a half hour left. Oddly, it says that only 48 minutes has elapses, when it was more than that before I left, but it still seems to be moving along.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed. :nerd:

Crossing my toes, certainly. I need my fingers to edit. :D

The FTP transfer is complete, and I've put in a ticket request that they restore the backup, and hopefully we will be up and running. Even though I don't really believe it. We'll see.

That was really fast!

And my notifications are working.

And because Voronwe got that one very last backup, I had unread posts waiting!

Thanks to everyone who made this happen, by doing the lifting and by offering advice!

And thanks for hosting us, b77! I for one will be back. And not because the board is down, for once.

Well, if I got back on this fast, I doubt it will take you much longer. Let's hope so! And at least Tapatalk works.

I cleared all my cookies and cache, but I'm still getting the error message. Is it a question of the domain names propogating at a different rate for different IP addresses?

I'm puzzled - was Prim's message a reply to Voronwë's, which now appears after?

And in answer to Frelga's question, which appears a few posts down, yes and forty-two.

I thought I posted this already, but it doesn't appear to be here.

It is working for me now. I put up a global announcement, and also sent out a global email to let people know that we are up and running.

I haven't received the global email :( It's not in my spam folder either.

Jude, did bringing the new board up require a ritual sacrifice and how many candles of red wax were involved?
