ETA: But now it is working again.

Uh-oh, I'm getting the guru meditation thing now. Teething problems for the domain name propagation?

Never mind, I did an ipconfig /flushdns and I can see it now.

Weird - it keeps going up and down for me. I read a couple of new threads, then click on a link and I get the old guru error. I wait a few minutes, try again and it's fine. Then it's not.

It's like my computer hasn't settled on which dns to use.

Same for me, Jude. Do you think it should resolve itself, or should I contact inmotion about it?

I would be inclined to wait, but then I don't know much more about dns than your average non-IT person. Maybe Alatar or Frelga could weigh in...

I'm not that kind of IT person, sorry.

That would make a good rank, if you ever get tired of your current one: "Not that kind of IT person" :D

It's working again for me this morning. Hopefully it will continue to do so.

Al, let us know whether you have been able to get on. Hopefully it will clear up for everyone soon.

Me too. I'm guessing that it's just local caching, or that the change has propagated to some DNS servers out there but not to others, or that there are remote DNS caches that haven't refreshed yet, or something of that nature, and that it will stop on its own sooner or later.

Here's a laugh. I finally received a response from oogeoo (formerly mxhub):

Quote:
Website is back online.
we are investigating on what caused the issue.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question. :)

I responded by asking them to cancel the account and refund me for the remaining time paid for. They won't, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Unfortunately, for anyone who is still having DNS propagation problems, that would mean that they would see different versions of the board, without any of the posts made since the move, yes? Hopefully that will be a temporary issue at worst.

Actually, after you posted that, I did see the guru meditation error again. Which means the mxhub website isn't back online at all.

Escaping from them was definitely the right move :D

Your encouragement and advice (not to mention funding the top ten list that includes inmotion) was invaluable.

Glad to hear it, Al!

In contrast to oogeoo, I got an email this morning from inmotion, just checking to make sure that everything went smoothly. I think I am going to like them!

Not for me. I was on earlier this morning, and had no problems, nor do I have any now.

No problems here, either.

Jude, I hope you are able to get on, particularly since a request that you made a couple of days ago has very nicely been granted!
