Currently, where it lists the users who are online on the main page, it says there's 1 guest browsing. Apologies if this has been answered before, but how is it possible to have guests here?

I think it's possible because I've been a guest before. I basically hadn't logged in yet, and I was just about to look at the memberlist.

You're listed as Guest status if you're in the process of logging in and logging out - sometimes that guest status *sticks* for a few minutes, even after you're in :)

As near as I can tell, there is alost always a "guest" online.
I have wondered about this myself, and have concluded the following;
If your settings aren't set so you are automatically logged in with each visit, then you appear as a guest until you log in.
Also there is some kind of info gatherer called googlebot.com. I have seen this "guest" appear at the B77Experiment site, and I would imagine it is the same here. Some type of web site info gathering tool. If you have any number of tools installed on your computer, i.e. Gogle search bar, then the "bot" tries to gather info about the site you are going to. Of course the "bot" can't log on, so it appears as a guest.
At least that is my take on the whole thing.

Oh, and on top of what I said - when a person is "posting a message" it shows up like that when you look at them in the admin forum, but if you look at the bottom of the page, they don't show up. I'm guessing that they are a guest at that point in time as well :scratch

I am going to lock this to declutter the forum. An FAQ thread hopefully will be created soon in welcome (or rather added to Farawen's existing one) where information just as this will be noted. There also (hopefully) will be an active ASK ANYTHING thread with a link to that FAQ/Welcome thread.

Thanks for your understanding. Any help and assistance you can give in the endeavour to 'streamline' B77 is most appreciated :D

And DO PLEASE READ the very important Announcement at the top of this forum.

Thanks again :)
