Sigh...looks embarrised

I did think of 'The wolfs Lair', but that may be the name of an Inn I am toying with as a base for RP. Generic Inn, medieval between 430AD and 1800 AD, you know the sort.

Think Shrek 2....but no fencing cats

Who exactly did you say was toying with the idea of an inn? :Q

*looks at Din pointedly*

I might steal your name for it though.

What? no Banderas cats?! where's the fun gone

And this would mean i have to think of a medieval character doesn't it. a specific place where the Inn will be held? what country. tempting to think of a Dutchie just to practise :P

Isn't between 430AD and 1800 AD a little broad??

No a little broad would be a short American woman

(Sorry, poking at American slang, bad Din  )

Ummm, yes it was broad, but thats no broarder than on TORC where you can have anything appearing in the LFI for example. I was actually, sadly, thinking Ren Fair enviroment :Q

Not sure, what would people want ?

I mentioned it a week before you even thought about Musketeers. So :P:wink: Don't you recall me mumbling on about a middle-aged stout landlady who'll be having no funny business in her inn, thank you very much..... It just got interrupted by a slight problem of flu and a resultant absent muse, plus a post owed to Bree first!

How's about we split the credit.

hmmmm... I'm wondering :halo:

Since we have a few 'debaters' on board, maybe we can tickle them into action by providing.. erm... well... a forum?

But I also want to throw something else out there and see your reactions. You see.. I've been thinking. Now don't look so surprised!
:P

B77 is growing day by day  As much as I would like to see 'many different fora' - it also means we'll be beginning to 'fragment' B77. We might end up with people that only lurk in one forum (their specific haunts) while as if e.g. debate threads would remain in 'Discussion' as it is today, then even non-debaters would be 'exposed' to seeing those threads - which makes it just a tad easier to click on them out of curiosity verusus having to wander into their lair (which, admittedly might take gutts)

So.. I just wanted to let that out and see what you think

I was thinking rather that we ought to live up to our beginnings as Tolkien-fans and kick-start some more literary discussion. Not just LOTR, but any other book that grabs your fancy. Though as of right now I'm mostly drawn to historical textbooks, so I'd maybe have not much to contribute.

How about a combined M00bies and B00ks forum?

Given the size of B77, I think we can start modestly and split it if it grows. :)

Ooooh, yes, now that we have so many people who used to like discussion on TORC it would be great if we could kick up some real discussion here, too.
(Not that I have a great lot of time, but if it were more interesting, who knows. :) )

I kinda prefer the idea of a minimalist approach...until things get too crazy, maybe just one more forum for movies and books?

Actually, I'd say "can we just stick with what we've got?" except for the fact that if movies and books have their own forum, I don't have to take the time to read those threads I wouldn't be reading anyway...

Over in a Turf thread, Din wrote:

I will try to set up the TORC discussion forum as soon as possible. I will grant access to those who were originally signatories of the petition, and those new member's who want access to it. All threads that whinge about TORC will be sent that way.

Is that ok with everybody?
On that topic I would like to reiterate what I've said before about this issue.

I don't think it's a good idea to have a specific forum where we can go to talk about TORC or TORCers in a disparaging fashion. It would seem to me that to do so would be an invitation to bitch. And that - unless I am very much mistaken - is not something we wish to see develop here any more that that which we've put behind us.

Certainly, TORC may be an issue for some time to come, but one that I hope will lessen in time. If people are hurting they may need to share their feelings. To be honest, if a thread says 'TORC being discussed' in its title, it's a pretty heavy nod even to the curious, that things might not all be My Little Pony Land in there. ;)

The lesson we need to learn from the last day or so is that we don't do ourselves any favours by responding to trolling or by getting irate when said troll roars and spits a bit. We also don't do ourselves any favours by casting about comments such as "X is a bitch", when we could so much more eloquently say that we were hurt by something they said or that we felt they were way out of line.

I feel like such a nag for even pointing out our own code of conduct, but the key is 'respect for others'. Even if they don't always extend the same courtesy to us.

Leoba, you know I agree wholeheartedly with you. I don't see the need for a separate "TORC rant" forum, in fact I think that would be little more than admitting that we do that as a matter of custom. And we had moved out of discussing TORC, until yesterday when Oreo posted what he posted.

Yes, we all come from TORC, and yes, some of us are still posting there, and we're still smarting from the whole fracas, so I don't think that this is the last time we'll discuss something or other happening over there. I just hope that we can be as balanced and fair as possible - and even go the extra mile. It does us (and our blood pressures) no good to get stroppy about it.

I know, because after all that happened yesterday I spent most of the night being sick.

As someone said (Ro?), we owe it to ourselves to prove that we can get over the whole thing and carry on with our lives.
