This is splitting off from hal's Bush thread, which has gotten onto other issues.

hal claims that we should all feel safer now because terrorists have so far been unsuccessful since 9/11. He claims that terrorists are choosing easier targets to attack. He doesn't accept that terrorism poses a threat to the US in the immediate future.

Well, I just saw a senator on CNN say:

"It is now clear that we are not adequately prepared to deal with a big terrorist attack, which I believe is going to happen." He went on to say that terrorist attacks (plural) were very likely to happen.

Interesting. So not only is another big attack expected, it is now understood that it would be poorly dealt with.

So what exactly is there to feel safer about since Bush launched his holy crusade on terror?
