I've cried a thousand oceans, and I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home.

Why so? Because of that non-existent Oprah episode?

The Daily Show's Stephen Colbert lampoons Bush and the White House Press Correspondents to their faces. Not too many left laughing by the end (and they're nervous :)):

The guy has guts, I'll give him that. Only the jester can get away with it.

The crooksandliars link is missing the beginning; the rest can be streamed here:

And here's the second half in the same format:

I'm a little slow, but:
50 Most Loathsome People, 2007

Not as funny as 2005's, IMO, but maybe just because I'm more used to loathing things.

This made ma laugh:
Quote:
32. The Founding Fathers

Charges: Lionized as moral pillars and demigods ad nauseam without the slightest hint of irony. Can't be judged by today's standards. Electoral College? Dumb fucking idea. Invoked by every asshole in the last two hundred years to support every stupid idea ever. The original liberal elite. Able to withstand lightning strikes and the British military; unable to fathom poor people voting.

Exhibit A: Owned wigs, Africans.

Sentence: Depicted as cartoons on rapidly devaluing currency; beaten at effective democracy by former monarchies.
:D :D :D

ETA - As did this:
Quote:
3. Fred Phelps
...
Sentence: Finally comes out of closet and is immediately killed by his followers.
:damnfunny: :damnfunny: :damnfunny: :damnfunny: :damnfunny:

:damnfunny: I've heard a lot about him, but that's the first time I've ever seen him.

I hope he's suitably embarrassed that that clip ended up on the internet. What a jerk.

Yeah, because a 20 year old clip someone has dug up to embarass you is where you should form your opinions from...

Oh, if you dig around YouTube you can find plenty of other, more recent reasons to dislike O'Reilly.

Years go by, but bullies stay the same.

Number One on the most loathsome people of America list?

Hillary (delusional nutcase) Clinton.

I watched her speech last night and nearly puked. What the hell is she thinking?

I don't know; she's been acting somewhat loathsome lately, but not nearly enough for the #1 spot, IMO. There's some pretty hefty competition for that.

Summary?

She held her gathering in a basement room with no TV, radio, or cellphone signal: this is a true thing! The people in there would not have known the results of both of yesterday's primaries. She said the primary campaign was over. She said she had "won" the popular vote - which she did if you don't count the states where she didn't win!!!! She asked her followers to tell her what to do next and said she wasn't going to make any decisions last night!!!!

Hillary, the decision has been made for you: YOU LOST.

There isn't much to be said in her favour, today. I do hope that Mr. Obama does not offer her the VP post. It would be suicide.
