How about this: You are given a choice of knowledge or no knowledge. Either you are know for sure that god is cruel and the cause of evil or you remain blissfully unaware that all evil is caused by god, all the while thinking that god causes good?

Knowledge, most definitely.

I'd always choose knowledge. Eve and Pandora have been wrongfully maligned for centuries.

Or, put another way, would you re-insert yourself into the Matrix? (I've been fascinated by that question for years.)

Knowing is usually better than not knowing, but in this instance, you can't do anything about it. You know god is the source of evil, but you can't stop him, nor is it going to be easy to sway people to your side.

Living blissfully ignorant keeps you stupid to god's true nature, but you'd be wrongly worshipping him.

Sometimes I have my days where I would rather just not know when I can't do anything to change it. It's like whining about stuff you have no control over (i.e. the weather).

First I'd just like to say that evil is a product of man , whom God did create (in some way). Humankind is imperfect hence evil is born. Now with that said and done, I don't really see the point in this one. What's the big deal knowing if god did or did not create evil unless you want to have a debate? I'm thinking too much aren't I?

Ignorance is bliss. My faith is blind anyhow so it won't harm me not to know the truth in this situation.

Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

Well, it is entirely hypothetical. Hence the GAME aspect of this thread. Replace god with Ra, Zeus, Odin, Loki or make-up a name if it helps you with the game.

I want to try to bring the game back. I had fun. Here's my next battle:

The Death Penalty or Creationism taught in schools

FIGHT!

I'd rather have Creationism taught in schools. I don't see Creationism as morally wrong, I see it as a different belief system. But I do see the Death Penalty as both morally wrong and hypocritical. Plenty of kids taught Evolution in their biology classes go away from them still believing in Creationism, and I have no doubt that it would be vice versa should Creationism be taught in schools instead of Evolution.

No, if you have the death penalty you can at least try and escape.

If you have creationism taught in school you are trapped forever in falshood (proably).

Was creationism a product of God or Satan though?

I mean, were not sure if the bible is from God or Satan so why would a 21 century dogmatic approach be any different?

Depends if creationism is taught as fact or theory.

Doesn't have to be taught as fact, but it is taught as an equally valid theory. Remember the original rules of this game, too. If you ban one, the other is allowed unfettered (and vice versa).

How is Creationism to be taught TED? As a philosophy of sorts or as a valid scientific theory?

I ask because we did talk about Creationism in my HS. In history class.

Well, I said it won't be claimed as factual, but it would be taught as an equally valid and competing theory with evolution. Maybe not taught in science, but there would be a class about the origins of life where Creationism is taught along side Evolution, but then again, maybe it would be taught in science.

Well, with creationism being taught alongside evolution, I would definitely reaffirm my choice above. I would much rather have that than the death penalty. In fact, I'd even prefer that multiple views on a subject like that be taught rather than just one. Not only would the fundamentalists have one less thing to complain about (well okay, some people would probably still complain about the fact that evolution was also being taught) but I think that schools should be discussing several theories of the beginning of human existence anyway.

no matter how much I love killing bad guys, its better to have the info on all points of the matter. So creationism in schools absolutely.

Creationism wins. Can't justify taking someone else's life no matter how cold blooded and demented they are.
