Pat Robertson's Predictions for 2008

Thursday, Jan 03, 2008 - 01:46 PM

BY The Associated Press

Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicts 2008 will be a year of violence worldwide and a recession in the United States, followed by a major stock-market crash by 2010.

Sharing what he believes God has told him about the year ahead is an annual tradition for Robertson.

On Wednesday's "700 Club" broadcast, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network predicted that evangelism will increase and more people will seek God as the chaos develops.

Robertson said, "We will see the presence of angels and we will see an intensification of miracles around the world."

Last year, Robertson predicted that a terrorist act, possibly involving a nuclear weapon, would result in mass killing in the United States. Noting that it hadn't come to pass, Robertson said, "All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us."

I predict that there will be good times and bad times. I predict good weather but there will also be bad weather at times. There will be a natural disaster somewhere in the world and people will die.

I predict that the stock market will fluctuate, sometimes wildly, and many people will lose money. However, some will gain money.

Gee, this prediction stuff isn't too hard, really. :D

Now take out the positive stuff and wave your arms around a lot and you could do it for money. ;)

One of my favorite forms of cheap-ass entertainment is to read my horoscope...at the end of the day.

So God is only merciful when enough people beg. What a nice fellow!

So, Robertson can use the same excuse when his 2008 predictions fail as well.

See! It's easy to be infallible! ;)

I'd say the guy's got a reasonable shot at being right this time around. Except for the angels and miracles stuff, but you can always find something to point at and call a miracle if you want.

Um, okay, so he was right (apart from the angels and miracles thingie). Should I reconvert?

Yes, of course I think you should reconvert. But don't do it because of Pat Robertson. :P

(Interesting that he was right, though.)

Robertson did nothing that anyone else did. The recession started in December of 2007. That was made official today. All Robertson did was look around him and call it as it was happening. He was totally out to lunch in actually predicting anything that was not already begun. No nuclear disaster by terrorists.... no big attack on the USA ... it was all crap.

If you study history you can be amazed at all sorts of so called holymen who predict things that come true. Rasputin told the Czarina of Russia that if the nation entered the world war, it would be the downfall of her familys rule. Does than make him sit at the right hand of God? Or was he merely politically savvy and a decent reader of the prevailing winds?

Rasputin at least helped the prince fend off his hemophiliac episodes. I will take that over dancing with angels any day of the week.

Except the major stock market crash is happening now.

I bet he didn't see a black man as President. Now that was something that would have been a prediction as no one saw that happening. Everyone thought Clinton 2 was the ticket.

The rest of it's pretty much run of the mill stuff.

Will there be an increase in terrorist activities...most likely.
Will there be problems with the stock market, but then again the economic big wigs have been predicting this for years.
As for angels and miracles, I have always thought they were around, and mostly working in mysterious ways on an individual level. It reminds me of the story of the guy who's house was flooding and he prayed for God to save him, sometimes the miracle worker is another human.

Pat Robertson-2 Real Life-3,000,000,000,000.

I wonder if the "700 Club" got an influx of donations today. Invest in the bank of god.

The northeastern part of the USA and all of Canada will experience ten to twelve weeks of very cold weather, possible with lots of snow and ice. This will be followed by a lessening of temperatures followed by lots of hot weather with humidity. But do not get used to it as the cold will be back later in the year.

The economy will get worse. People will lose their jobs. Companies thought to be secure just a year ago will go out of business. Home values will go down. People will get angry about these events.

There will be change in Washington DC.

There will be wars and rumors of wars in other lands.

More than one natural disasters will hit mankind.

Millions of people will die this year. Children will starve to death. Old hatreds will be revived and end in bloodshed.

The seas shall rise and the land shall fall. The skies will grow dark and the days shorter.

All this shall come to pass.

Okay, I should have been more specific: what are Robertson-the-fraud's predictions for 2009?

I had forgotten about this. But I can say that any credibility Mr. Pat Robinson might have had with me went out the window when he endorsed Rudy Giuliani for president. Mr. Robinson has been pretty straightforward about telling Christians the type of people they should support (Strong on conservative moral values) and then he came out in support of someone exactly the opposite of what he has been "preaching" all these years.

I don't think so. I don't go anywhere near his sites, so I have no idea if he even posted any (or gave any in a speech).

I tried to google it but my filter at work blocks access to all the search results.

My filter is smarter than I am. :blackeye:
