Teachers, left to their own devices, wouldn't bring up the God issue. If it is brought up, they would correctly say that it's not scientific. They do not say it is wrong. They do not say "god did it is wrong". They say "this is the theory, this is the science." They do not say "this is the theory, this is the science, and there is no god."

And they don't say "if you think god did it you will fail." They do not say "you have to agree with the theory or you will fail." They say "you have to demonstrate on the test that you understand the theory".
