I'm not saying a single offense should be actionable... I'm saying when someone repeatedly and purposfully lowers the level of debate by using such intellectually dishonest tactics, we should be able to do something about it.

Some will skate the fine line between doing everything in their power to put someone down with absurd debate tactics, while coming short of personal attacks... meaning, they harrass and demean someone without anyone able to do anything about it.

Then change the definition of personal attack. Or grow a thicker skin. Unless you make fallacies actionable (which I disagree with), there aren't many other options. Also, you could lecture the person who is demeaning you.

Call 'em on it when they do it and then, if the behavior persists, ignore them. For god's sake, Rangers get enough heat when we take action for things that are already actionable. The board flips the hell out when we take action and then wants us to do more??

No, the board doesn't want you to do more. As far as I can see, only one person is asking for more to be done. Of course, I could be wrong, and there might be others.

Personally, if I don't like the way someone is debating, I call them on stuff (if I can spot it), say my peace, and then walk away if necessary. Let the readers judge. (And they probably judge in the other poster's favor most of the time, as I am no great debater.)

When I fucking call people on it, nothing happens, and they pile on more attacks. it's total bullshit, and I'm sick of it.

THEN STOP PARTICIPATING!

Honestly Hal, stop asking the Rangers to solve your problems for you. Deal with SF or ignore him. Leave the Rangers out of it.

Then start ignoring him or finally leave for good. It's become quite clear you aren't getting your way on this one.

Indeed, eru, indeed... so yet again, the bully gets protection, and the victim has to shut up or go home... nice place we've built here...

A lot of people have expressed the opinion that they saw you as bullying, too. Please keep that in mind when you're criticizing us for lack of action.

I know a lot of people say that, and it's total bullshit.

I direct your attention to the thread of evidence against SF that should have resulted in a hearing.

I also direct you to NO ONE HAVING ANY EVIDENCE OF ME DOING ANYTHING CLOSE TO THAT SCALE. ONE post is repeatedly used to say I did the equal of his 20 odd posts. It's total nonsense, and shows people on this board who think that will never ever look at me fairly, and it's because of people like SF.

I don't acknowledge your equating personal attacks and harassment with "criticising."

Personal attacks? Well you have attacked sf in strident terms.
Harrassment? Well you have gone on and on and on about it, even when he is not here to answer.

I have not, and I have not. You are interpretting things in your own "SF can't be the only guilty party" point of view, which is incorrect. He can, and is.

We're allowed to make our own judgments based on what we read. We don't need you telling us how to view every situation. That's what we keep telling you when we ask you to ignore it- let us decide for ourselves how to view someone's behavior.

Sure, you can think whatever you want, but when the evidence shows you to be incorrect, you should change what you think.

Evidence against SF: rampant.
Evidence against me: one post, which was an example of attacks that have been aimed at me for years, but always let slide... until I do it.

You're generally more underhanded in your attacks. Perhaps so much so that you don't see them. But I do, and that has helped form my opinion of you.
