My political philosophy seems to have odd bits and pieces to it. Of course, this questions in this quiz were a bit biased, I think. ;)

I took the test and then lost my results while trying to figure out what their labels meant. I'm not going to take it again because it's so long, the bias in some of the statements was annoying, and I figured out how to game it less than half-way through.

But it would be nice if that site had their categories defined somewhere so I'd actually be able to interpret those results they made me answer 106 questions for.

Yeah, there is a purpose to the test. I was able to make contact with the authors.

They say one problem with standard political tests is that they do not make a difference between "is this wrong" and "should this be illegal." Either they just ask one, or they just ask the other.

For instance, I think doing lots of drugs is wrong, but I also think banning drugs is wrong.

To tell the difference between the legal imperative and the moral imperative takes more questions. That's why the questions are somewhat repetitive with the difference of "with government doing it" as one of the two questions.

And yes, I too would like to know more about what they mean by "economic leftist" since there are some who would go to any length to define me as "right wing" in spite of any evidence to the contrary.

I don't understand the types, but I'll try the test. I know where my loyalties lie, but I bet the questions will confuse me....

"You should not be subject to legal penalties just because you consume a chemical substance." Hmm, that's rather a loaded question. Does agreeing mean that drunk driving can't be penalized?

10% Economic Leftist
6% Statist
7% Anti-Militarist
39% Socio-Cultural Conservative
0% Civil Authoritarian

Wow, I thought I'd come out much stronger on Statist and Civil Authoritarian, if they're what I think they are.

I think it's not a bad quiz all up. There were only about two questions in the 106 that I thought were too US-specific.

I believe it means drinking or drugs, not drinking-and-driving or drugs-and-driving.

My my have I come a long way. I'm actually trying to figure out where I stand politically. I want both sides of the story and I'm surprised to find out how I thought I was SO liberal but I'm not on certain issues. This questionaire says I am because I am SOOO pro-gay, but on imigration I'm really really conservative. Overall, I think and I'm still trying to figure this all out but I think I'm more libertarian than anything. Who knew?!

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping
