I'm hearing something about 6pm now. Is that a legit part of the theory or are people making it up?

People are claiming that the Rapture is going to occur today at 6pm, and you're asking if the 6pm part is made up? :poke:

You crack me up sometimes :D

I've heard 5pm, so who knows?

I like how Jesus is partial to EST.

:salmon: :P As pointed out, as silly as this may all seem, they at least had some biblical rationale for what day it would happen. I just had a hard time believing they could come up with a biblical rationale for the hour too.

I doubt it, too, yovi. I can't recall anything in the account of Noah's flood that talked about the time of day. There are references to the time of day in the account of Jesus' crucifixion, so maybe they are using that?

Now that it's over, I'm kinda sad thinking all the poor people whose world view is being so very publicly shattered.

But the good thing is that everyone will have learned their lesson and humanity will never fall into this sort of thing again.

If only, Dave...

Well, we have about an hour left, but I'm not holding my breath.

If you hold your breath for an hour you might well end up raptured! ;)

Harold Camping, the 89-year-old who supposedly predicted this, is "missing". Surprise, surprise.

Well, he has a lot to be accountable for.

Alatar, I did think of that. :D

elsha, you know, I was wondering what would happen to him, and the thought truly went through my head last night, "I'll bet he'll disappear somehow." I only hope he hasn't committed suicide or something...

Incidentally, if you read the rest of the verse quoted above, you'll discover that Jesus himself* doesn't know when he's coming back. So WTU does this guy get off claiming he knows something that Jesus doesn't know?

Well, that was the point that many of us other Christians were making all along.

I've been reading about this with some incredulity, but it wasn't until today that I noticed from the news reports that he actually lives a few miles away from me. :Q Since I was hearing from you folks all over the world, and in my local news, it didn't occur to me that it really was a local story. Just for the record, the majority of us in this town have our heads on fairly firmly. :P
