No, that's the last season where it became Fargate. They should have stopped at season 9 in my opinion.

I wonder what season I'm in. I watched an episode where:

(spoilers maybe)

Quote:
Sam meets her replicator clone who doublecrosses the replicator guy AND the humans. The next episode is the one where Daniel and the General are traveling in Prometheus to find the missing group who went to Atlantis. That's the one that had the lady from Farscape in it.

So what season is that? Do you know?

I had to look it up, but they meet "Vala" in season 8. In season 9 she joins the cast.

I take it back. They should have stopped with season 8. Season 9 is pretty bad, too. I'm rapidly forgetting them, though, since I don't watch those two seasons. I'll watch the first 8 anytime- but it's like all the good writers went to Stargate Atlantis when it started, or something. We did buy the DVDs to complete the set, but they are still unopened.

I just saw the 4th episode of season 2 - the one with the gamekeeper. Maria, did you like that one?

It reminded me of the Buffy episode where she is either in a mental institution, or imagining that she is. You didn't like that one...

No, that one didn't bother me, it had a happy ending. :) I usually don't mind "What is Reality??" episodes in science fiction and fantasy because it's usually made clear in the end that the alternate reality was not real. What made me so upset about the Buffy episode the fact that they didn't make that distinction at the end, and instead implied that the reality of the whole Buffy series was in question.
:bang: :bang:
When you're really invested in a series, tossing something like that into one's brain is just cruel! I have a well developed ability to suspend disbelief and just absorb a story, but throwing out the possibility that the whole series is
Buffy spoiler wrote:
the product of a psychotic girl's hallucinations
is just messing with the audience's head. And Joss Whedon did it deliberately! :x I don't need my head messed with, thank you very much.

I did like that the "Gamekeeper" guy was the person that played Lt. Barkely in StarTrek Next Gen. :) It made me smile.

I watched the one the other day where Tilk agrees to play this virtual reality combat game where he goes into the game a la Matrix to fight these foes that will learn from him. It was a lighthearted and fun episode I think. I have no idea what season it is from. It's been a long time since I watched SG-1.

I think I missed the last season of Atlantis and couldn't get through season one of Universe though I want to give it another try cause I saw in a recent advert that dr. Rodney McKay is in the latest episode. He was my fave character from Atlantis.

That episode was on recently here, TWT (with Teal'c and the virtual reality game). It was a good one!

So, what is the relationship between the various Stargates? After about 10 seasons of SG-1, there's Atlantis. Is that a continuation of the same story? Or a whole new bunch of characters?

Then there's The Ark of Truth, Continuum, Universe, and Infinity. How does it all fit together?

1994- "Stargate", the movie, starring Kurt Russell as Jack O'Neill
1997- 2007- "SG-1" starring Richard Dean Anderson as Jack O'Neill - 10 seasons
2004-2009- "Stargate Atlantis" starring new people, but with plenty of guest spots from SG1 and two characters transferring over from SG-1.
2008- "Stargate: Ark of Truth" A film to finish off the SG-1 story arc. Since I didn't like the last two seasons of SG-1, I didn't retain much at all of this film after I watched it. Big whoop.
2008- "Stargate: Continuum" Another movie about the SG-1 cast. Kinda interesting. :)
2009- "Stargate: Universe" A new series with totally different characters. Set in the same universe as the rest, with minor SG1 character cameos. Mildly interesting. I have to watch it on DVD, so it's usually a while before I see a season. Season 1 was OK.

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

Did you win anything?

Spoiler:
Quote:
Last night's episodes were where Sam decides not to marry the cute cop guy because she realizes she loves Jack. Sam's dad and his symbiote died. :( We learn that Oma helped Anubis ascend, but then she finally does something about that. And Daniel "died" again, and then he came back again. At least when he comes back from the dead, he's naked, and we get to see a bit of that. :D

Thanks, Maria! I figured it was from a season that Jude hadn't watched yet.

It's a form of torture for those watching it while it's being broadcast for the first time.

Just in time - my Season 3 is ready for pickup at the library.

*is puzzled* how did I jump from position 19 to head of the queue in just one day?

Incidentally, does every season end with a cliffhanger? This could get old fast.

Bah, nobody ever did a cliffhanger like "Best of Both Worlds" in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Yep, that was pretty much the worst one ever! In terms of having to wait until the next season started, I mean!

"Fire!"

"to be continued"
:bang:
