No worries. Just make sure its the European trial you're downloading and not the US one, otherwise you won't be able to get on the same server as us. We're on Laurelin (EN-RP) server.

Incidentally I'm on holiday for the next 2 weeks with limited net access!

This is what I'm downloading (the link that was given by Codemasters):

http://www.fileplanet.com/189559/180000 ... lish-UK%29

So for some reason, every 2GB I'm getting some sort of error. Thankfully with the download manager I can resume the download. So hopefully I should get it all.

Thats the one. You might want to get something like "Scisoft Sandra" to check your memory. Sounds like you may have a corrupt DIMM.

No idea what that means! I'll gave to do some googling.

Anyway, I've finally managed to install the game (took even more time extracting the zip, then installing, then getting all the updates...sheesh, never had to wait this long to play a game! :P).

There is so much to this game. I haven't got a frakking clue what I'm doing! :Q

This was such a bad time for me to start this game: when Alatar is away! :P Only because I have so many questions.

I am enjoying the game quite a lot. I do find it frustrating when I keep dying at a quest so early on or have to go searching LOTRO's Lorebook or online to find out how to do something.

I've been befriended by a random stranger though! A guy came up and said "Look!" and started performing some emotes. He then invited me into a Fellowship and said he'd help me level up. So he took me around whilst he fought everything (lvl 30 Loremaster...that magic looks kewl even though it's not really at all Middle Earth) and got me an extra level. In a way I was being pretty trusting as he took me to an area that I couldn't have handled. But he brought me back and then helped me with the quest I was having problems with. :)

Congrats to your first steps then.

Did you follow Alatar's advice and start on Laurelin?
If so, then you could add Areandriel, Mathin or Isildis to your friendslist.

What's your Characters' name? I'll add you to mine and then I can contact you ingame - if I happen to be online at the same time as you......

Given the small amount of online time I'm having at the moment, I'm quite sure you'll overtake me soon anyway....

Yep, I joined the Laurelin server. :) My character's name is Erunaneth (though on hindsight I should have spelled it Eruaneth! ) I'll add all your aliases. :)

I'm in the Old Forest right now and OMG are the areas filled with spiders annoying! As a hunter it takes ages to work my way through it as I have to pick of spiders one by one from a distance. Ugh, it's taking sooooo much time. And I have to do it all over again because I died right after defeating the boss spider as loads of small ones started attacking me afterwards. I have to go in again because I have to find the bad tree by the spider's nest. Ugh. :bang:

I'm not sure how I feel about my character being described as a man hunter.
