There aren't any new episodes, Lali. Sci fi channel is just showing the old episodes.

And Serenity is already gone at the local theatres where I live, so if you want to see it on big screen you'd better go soon. And it's worth seeing on big screen!

Thanks, Maria!

Oh, that's a bummer. :(

I will definitely check the cheap theatres to see if it's there yet. I'm only hoping I can get get all the episodes watched before I have to take the DVDs back to the library. :Q 2 down last night, 12 or so to go. (I've seen 1 or 2 of those previously, so maybe only 10.)

The DVD came out yesterday, and we watched it last night. The deleted scenes are the best I've ever seen on a movie. They should have been included!

Did the movie just come out in theatres not that long ago? this was a quick DVD release. I'll be picking it up shortly...

Yay!!!! I can't wait to rent it! :D Thanks, Maria!

TWT, I think it was a really quick DVD release. I remember it being in the theatres only a couple of months ago. (I was trying to watch all of the episodes before watching the movie; I didn't make it in time, but now I don't have to wait forever anyway.)

I also bought the DVD, and it remains every bit as wonderful as it was seeing it for the first time on the big screen. Best piece of sci-fi since Empire Strikes Back, in my opinion.

Excellent! I've watched it 3 times now. It's fantastic!

(I was upset that I didn't know who got killed, but that was my own fault for not asking first.)

I'm going to be buying the DVD soon.

I'm waiting for the European release as I hear there may be more extras on it. If there aren't I'll just grab whichever is cheaper :)

I do enjoy the movie better knowing about the death ahead of time. I was terribly shocked in the theatre, and didn't go back to see it in big screen again- whereas I might have, if they hadn't thrown me for such a loop with a shocker like that.

Now, with the DVD, we've watched it 4 times already, and it gets better each time. :)

Well I've almost seen all the Firefly episodes. I have them all but am pacing myself because I don't want to see them all at once. Such an INCREDIBLE series. FOX is officially the epitome of oblivious...

I seem to have a rule about not discovering shows until after they're canceled for being too good. Rented them all and loved 'em (and I've had the theme song stuck in my head for more than a week).

I just discovered it, too. I really like watching a show, then watching it again with the director's voice over, explaining all the neat stuff that I hadn't noticed directly, but which made it such a good series.

I discovered Serenity a couple of years ago and have only watched a few of the episodes but have seen the movie a bunch of times. It was well written and had a really unique concept and like all really great shows got canceled.

We spend all of Boxing Day watching the Firefly series which we finally got round to buy (after seeing Serenity on the big screen - I mean at the cinema).

Now I see what all the fuss is about. Great one-liners, some black humour, good action. The Wild West Frontier premise was grating, but the emphasis reduced as the series progressed thank goodness.

Screw you Fox for carving up the programme (episodes in the wrong order, not all shown, and cancelling the series).

It was a great ensemble, too; each contributed so perfectly and the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

Glad you and Estel enjoyed it.

I'll add my agreement. Pretty confusing as to why they canceled such a great show. A shame. I am glad that the fans were able to generate enough interest after the series was canceled to get the movie done. Not sure if there are many other success stories out there like that. :)

I became a Browncoat in mid-late 2008. I saw Serenity first, then went back and obtained/watched Firefly.

Terrifying space monkeys.

Chain of command.

I'm a leaf on the wind...

Fox should be brought up on charges of crimes against humanity for not allowing Joss the opportunity to make this work. One of the best shows I've ever seen. My brother's watching through it now, he saw Serenity the same weekend I did last year on DVD.

I'm about halfway through the show. I'm watching online which takes time on this computer as the episodes can take a while to load up on whatever site's player I'm using. It's really poor quality as well so I'm missing out on a lot I'm sure.

I wasn't thrilled with the western stuff at the beginning but once that toned down a bit, the show became more enjoyable. I really love the characters' sytax (geez, it took me five minutes to remember that word...knew what I wanted to say but it was on the tip of my tongue!) and vocabulary. It's so shiny! I think the swearing in Chinese is a bit silly though.

I too don't know why this show was cancelled or why another network like SciFi didn't pick it up. The show is so clever....actually that's probably why Fox cancelled it.
