Warlock Psychologist by Swan Lake

Swan Lake is probably one of the more beautifully chaotic indie bands from the last ten years. I would def recommend checking out the album Enemy Mine to anyone. :)

Yovargas in particular (where are you?) as I think you probably like Swan lake's parent bands, Spencer Krug's Wolf Parade, and Dan Bejar's The New Pornographers...

Just posted this on HoF:

Quote:
I think this is kinda geeky in a cool way. I may have mentioned before that the Irish language is more or less a dead language here, only spoken in a few remote "Gaeltacht" areas, but officially required for State positions and a compulsory subject all through primary and secondary school.

Well, one of the cool things about Irish is that it provides a brilliant opportunity for kids of a certain age and a certain temperament to get away for a few weeks without their parents to go to "Irish College". This is essentially a summer camp in a Gaeltacht area, and the kids are expected to speak Irish at all times. My eldest daughter is just back from her first Irish College and absolutely loved it.

Anyway, one of the colleges decided to take a recent hit and re-record it, translated into Irish and its become a bit of a viral hit over here. This is the original by Avicii:

and here's the Colaiste Lurgan version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1A6__HssHW8

Guess which one I prefer? Smile

Been listening to Faun a bit lately. It's in German, but I think they are quite good!

Oooh, I like them! :)

TWT, I listened to a few of their songs. They're not bad. Sleep Talk has been sticking with me.

Yeah, I just like when new bands make music that sounds more like its from the 60s without sounding too retro so to speak. Terrible explanation...

Been loving The National for a while now. Currently listening to:

Don't swallow the cap - The National

Don't know how to accurately describe them, just a beautiful song.

Tried listening to Faun but my phone doesn't like to play audio lately and I don't have a computer. :( Ill look them up later.

Sorry you're having trouble listening to Faun. They are pretty awesome.

Lately I've been listening to the four sisters of Stonefield. They are really good at the retro vibe! Fleetwood Mac picked them up to open a few of their shows later this year, but I'll see them on the at the Alhambra Lounge in November!

My current earworm:

(I've already parsed out the whistle part. Not sure it's a whistle, but it is something like that. Maybe a whistle sound on a keyboard?)

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive!

Love that lyric.

Piece by piece and frame by frame - Deer Tick

One of my fave bands, modern country Rock. Great American band. Saw their show here in toronto the other night, they played for almost two hours, it was fantastic! I bought two vinyls and left quite happy. :)
