My air conditioner and computer fan.

:P

Hey, to some people that would classify as "music"
Quote:
John Cage's most famous musical composition is called 4'33".

It consists of the pianist going to the piano, and not hitting any keys for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. (He uses a stopwatch to time this.) In other words, the entire piece consists of silences -- silences of different lengths, they say.

On the one hand, as a musical piece, 4'33" leaves almost no room for the pianist's interpretation: as long as he watches the stopwatch, he can't play it too fast or too slow; he can't hit the wrong keys; he can't play it too loud, or too melodramatically, or too subduedly.

On the other hand, what you hear when you listen to 4'33" is more a matter of chance than with any other piece of music -- nothing of what you hear is anything the composer wrote.

Oh, darn. Here I come upon this thread when I happen to be all boring and listening to the ROTK soundtrack.

Well, my real song of the moment is Starman by Bowie. Here's the playlist I'm wearing out:
  • Incomplete - Backstreet Boys (preview version)
Incomplete - Backstreet Boys (full version)
    Again - Billy Klippert
The Mountains Win Again - Blues Traveler
Everything I Do (I Do It For You) - Bryan Adams
Ocean of Dreams - DJ Doboy
    Endless Waves - DJ Tiesto
I'll Dance Alone - DJ Doboy
    This Is Me - Dream
    Gravity of Love - Enigma
    Rumors - Lindsay Lohan
Don't Move On, Livin' For the City, Changes medley - Lindsay Lohan (its from one of her movies, just a bunch of songs put together)
Let Me Love You - Mario
    I Don't Wanna Know - Mario feat. P. Diddy
    In This World - Moby
    When Doves Cry - Ginuwine
    Starman - David Bowie.

Hey, considering what Viggo Mortensen calls "an album"...

Hot-linking? :scratch That stupid cunt. The link doesn't even go to her site. Feh. Anyway, go to http://arwen-undomiel.com/music.html and to the "other music clips" section. About ten links down on the right side is Viggo's "Half Fling" song. There's also a link to it's lyrics.

Yeah, its def. weird.

2.Lacuna Coil-The Ghost Woman and the Hunter
3.Ayreon-The Stranger from Within
4.Iron Maiden-Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Lily, I tend to go on the file-sharing programs and type random words into the search engines, and download whatever shows up!

Lately, I'm more into the kind of music without singing in it - be it movie scores, techno, or that mood music that you're supposed to play while you're relaxing in a tub surrounded by candles. With that in mind, I do searches on words that might get me the hits I want, like "ocean" or "dolphin", "forest", and flowery things like that. It's worked so far.

I believe there are thousands of songs and artists out there that I will never know about because they don't play on conventional radio, or have CDs out in stores, but I'd like to come across them somehow, so I take advantage of what's available on Kazaa and Ares, etc. to find good music. I make note of everything I download, and if it sucks, cuz then I won't download it again weeks later.

I have a playlist of the Vandals.

(I'll make you) love me
F'd up girl
4, 3, 2, 1, 0, -1
So long, farewell
People that are going to hell
My girlfriend's dead
I know, huh?
Money's not an issue
Euro barge
Live fast, diarrhea
I have a date
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Summer lovin'
When I say you, I mean me
My brother is gay
Sorry mom, and dad
The new you
Jackass
Behind the music
Here I am lord
A gun for christmas
Oi to the world
Anarchy burger
Allah!
Clowns are experts (at making us laugh)
Play that country tuba, cowboy
Mohawk town

I had no reason to write the whole list, but here it is. The Vandals are a punk band. They're funny.
