But Shearer doesn't have the experience IMHO.

They're talking about Jose Morinho. As much as I hate the bastard, he would probably make a winning team out of England.

Sounds like they're looking at Terry Venables for Ireland. Could work.

Hadn't heard that. But the FA is going to cunduct some sort of servey with a lot of top football people, media, managers etc. Its reported that Sir Alex will give his vote to Morinho.

And once again, I have taken a moment out of my day to laugh at Tottenham. Ah....

Ok. As of today the Champion's League resumes. Its one of those competitions where I can just sit down and watch all of the games, no matter who's playing and be entertained. Great competition.

My United doesn't play until tomorrow, but the matches today are:

Liverpool vs. Inter Milan
Chelsea vs. Olympiacos
Shalke vs. Porto (ok so that one I don't care about)
Roma vs. Real Madrid

Real's match probably to be the most interesting.

Tomorrow is a HUGE feast which will involve easily the two best games

Arsenal vs. AC Milan
Man Utd vs. Lyon

France's Lyon is incredibly talented this year with winger Ben Arfa looking at this stage like a talent somewhat comparable with Cristiano Ronaldo. Striker Benzema is second to none in the French league.

Celtic vs. Barcelona also crash and that should be interesting.
Fenerbahçe vs. Sevilla is the last.

Bump?

I can't say as I ever made three posts in a row that have spanned a year and a half. :P

Anyone still talking football out there? The prem and Champions league are wrapping up and its almost World Cup time!

Hope there's still some footy fans out there.

Who's the banana supposed to be in that emoticon montage? :LMAO: Is he like the ref or something?

I like soccer, but we don't get it on regular TV channels here in the U.S. And we don't have cable.

Did you just call the ref a banana?????? That's a red card offence! ;)

Well, not only that, but I think he's a biased judge too. Can you see the look on his face?

Yeah, good on Spurs.

As a United fan, I'm glad it wasn't City. :)

Also looks like an interesting end to La Liga. Madrid are in serious danger of not winning a single trophy after spending the most rediculous amount of money last year on a few of the world's best. Good, I say, show them that money doesn't necessarily equal success.

Really should be a fun summer. Anyone care to make any early predictions on who might win the WC?

Eldest son says Brazil, No. 2 plumps for Spain on recent form...

I'll wait for the group games and then make an educated guess...

Spain are on good form. Though I don't necessarily think that England will win I think they have as good a chance this year as they could ever really have. I have a feeling the Cup will stay in Europe this year though, don't know why, just a feeling.

Just asked No.3 son who's home from school, and he reckons Spain or possibly Germany have a good chance, though he says he would like Argentina or England to win...

Got some excellent news today. My team (Manchester United) is coming to play a pre-season game against Celtic here in Toronto and I'm getting front row tickets behind one of the goals! But it gets better there's a good chance we're gonna get to go to dinner with the team. I'm part of the local supporters club and the team always treats us nice. So I'm hoping everything goes through and it works out! Would be a dream for me!

Germany will win of course.

Even if it will be without Lehmann. :( (I understand he is too old, but it was way too cool)

Both of the teams of my sons won today! Yeah! Now I have to do the laundry...
